Encryption of SD card is available in most of the new phones running Android 5.0 and above. I'm not sure why it is not available in Mi Max.

Not in other Xiaomi phone too.

Anyone managed to get past the installation of 3rd party theme?

I tried to get additional theme using the built in Theme app, but it says 3rd party theme not allowed once I downloaded and tried to select Apply.

Just need to put your finger on the fps can already. It will wake your phone up.

On Samsung, it is there since Android 4 days. This feature so far never available in Miui.

also the signal 4G on the mi max kinda poor.

when at home I can't receive 4G network, the phone will stay at 3G always.

when I switch to other phone using the same SIM card it can receive 4G 100%. I tested Asus and iPhone.

Under Security menu in Settings, there is an option to encrypt phone and encrypt SD card. Once you encrypt SD card, the data cannot be read using other phones or computers.

other phones not sure, but if they have the functions normally is at security,privacy setting or storage sd card options. if you can't find means don't have I guess. lol.

If the phone is dead, there is no way to decrypt the SD card contents. The encryption key is stored in the secured memory of the phone, which the users don't have access to.

So, you need to have another backup of SD card contents elsewhere.

I think because mi max not fully support all the Singapore LTE bands.

You cannot. This is the purpose of encryption. You should have backup somewhere else.
You always need s backup as SD memory do not last forever.

mine is local set. outside use 4G no problem. outdoor area.
