ok i got the mi pad 4 from qoo10 on 9.9 for 199

the screen shows unlocked - i presume the seller unlocked the bootloader

the miui installed is 9.6.8.0 (ODJMIFD) says its 9.6 global stable

this is not real global rom right? will i get OTA updates subsequently?

also, should i lock back the bootloader? how can i do so?

I bought a 64gb mipad 4 for my son, and a 128gb mipad 4 plus for myself.

Straightaway I can see how amazing this tablet will be.

For $225 for the mipad 4 (Lzd 9/9 flash sale, after live up rebate and voucher) I get an lte tablet with a sd660 processor. It's REALLY snappy. My previous tab s3 with sd820 also wasn't this fast when I first got it, and it slowed down like crazy after a year.

I used to have Mi Pad 1 for my son, it was awesome and maintained its speed over time really well also using an nvidia Tegra processor. The only shortfall was its lack of LTE, which is now addressed at a great price point.

MI pad 4 plus same thing, I use my tablets for flights, no time to use other time. It's perfect for watching movies, reading magazines on magzter, and again it's REALLY responsive.

On the mi pad 4 I installed EU rom so it works like a treat with play store and I believe even can get OTA updates.

I need to wait 30 days to unlock my Plus but it's still working fine now. With sideloaded play store I can install and use Netflix, Spotify, Kodi etc.

guys I need help here, previously I could open and install few apps on the Playstore but the next day suddenly I was unable to open the Playstore.

It says servery busy, try again later .

Disclaimer: I have already enabled all permission on all google apps. any other thing I haven't done?

I plugged in my circles sim to my OnePlus 5, I can get 4G+ but on this tablet, only 4G.

mine was stuck at this status for 4 days before it showed "Arrived at the Distribution Center". People are saying probably due to the typhoon. Mine from Finer too and I requested for sealed set hence shipping from Shenzhen. Got it last night, everything is nice and good.

Out of the box, it is running on 9.6.26.0 and got updated to 9.6.27.0.

If u read thread, it is still based on CN Rom, removing Chinese bloatware and services and adding Google services and EU languages.

carrier aggregation on 2 or more LTE bands... Mipad supports all 3 LTE bands the local telco uses and should get 4G+ but dunno why it is not working...

I think to be able to go 4G+, the device must also support it. I remember the old Samsung s4 has 4G and 4G+ version. (May be same for Samsung Note 4, as rear cover of phone got print 4G+).

Ie it may be more then just the required LTE frequency band.
