these "cast" products in the $20 range , on aliexpress and shopee , bad user reviews about too laggy or choppy to watch video
I'm using it, actually not that serious its definitely watchable but will have stream lag approx. 0.5sec for some devices or apps.

yes, I'm using it. you have to enable the device under "wireless display" option in setting.
you can get it in lazada also, it cheaper.

Nice! At least there is a glimpse of hope here.. thanks for the reply!

ya, hope xiaomi get it approve by IDA and runs global rom version so no need to deal with the warranty and some weird compatibility issue. :s12:

Just have to take note that now Xiaomi will brick your device if you try to flash firmware of different version (as in flashing Global ROM to China ROM) it won't work and won't boot. Got workaround though.

i just check in lazada, you can get one as low as S$12+:s12: but do keep in mind that that lag will not be excellent for full HD video and heavy graphic gaming as the lag is noticeable but like some NES, SNES emulation you should not feel it and the device you're using also plays apart base on my experience with it.

lag for youtube video I think is acceptable ?
but I cannot stand choppy video with frames dropped

saw on youtube , the lag seem to affect gamers only ?

also interested in buying the "cast"

i make a short demo on twitch, you will realize at 01:16 there will be a short tearing (pixelated) of stream and lag around <0.3sec as i mention but the overall playback on a 720p youtube video on my redmi s2 was fine.
you will realize some black bar and bad quality thats actually due to the crappy ASUS device i used to record, it has nothing to do with the stream.

and if you wonder why not post on youtube because they block the video due to "licensing" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
