Fingers crossed they do a formal release for global set. So far only Mi Pad 1 had official global, after that seems to be all China set then flash with rom.

Agree. Previous Mpad 2-4 didnt do well partly it didnt have official global version. I remember Mipad 1 was good, but one fine day it just suddenly die. Bring to SLS ah beng shop they also no idea how to repair..

Price nothing to shout about.
Pad 5 SD860 RMB$1999(~SGD$420).
Pad 5 pro SD870 RMB$2499(~SGD$520). 5G version RMB$3499(~SGD730).
Probably add another $50-80 markup when our local sellers bring in export set for sale.

Honestly, nothing outstanding woah woah. A little disappointed...

Actually the specs and design has been leaked since weeks ago. Only waiting for price to be revealed today. But you see Lei Jun kept on arrowing ipad for comparison, you know the price will be cheaper than ipad but not necessarily value for money. Like seriously, when budget brands like alldocube can do 2k ips screen and 8gb ram on their tablets for sub USD$200(albeit with a lousier SOC), not sure where the mipad 5/5 pro stands in terms of value.
