Shopee already have people selling mipad 5 at $599 and mipad 5 pro non 5g at $719. Face palm prices for non global sets.

Anyways no news of Mi Pad getting global release. They always like that one.. So just grab it.. Haha

Get from taobao the lenovo xiaoxin pad pro 2021 or matepad 11 if you want to try harmony OS. Both are going for RMB$2499. Don't undertstand how the hell matepad 11 costs $699 over here. Tried the demo set at Challenger and aside from the lack of GMS, i kinda like the overall design and feel of the tablet. But i will never pay the local msrp even when the current promo comes with free M-pencil and wireless keyboard.

woah I just checked matepad 11 specs, and realised that it's equipped with sd865. not bad as compared to sd870, and outperform kirin 990 by quite a bit.

actually i already agreed to purchase a used matepad pro today. but luckily I managed to revive my mipad 1 this morning, so I backed out the deal. I find the mipad 1 form factor more suitable for me, small enough to slip in my sling bag, bigger than my 7.2 phone for reading and do some work on MS office.

and mipad 1 being the international version, and also partly because it's the same chipset of Nividia Shield, it's so widely supported by the community. imagine it's still able to run android 9. imagine it's a 2014 model. I have another mipad 2, but I think due no source code release and slow update by Xiaomi, the pad is still stuck at Android 5.

Preordered Mi Pad 5 Pro.. With case and a slight discount from seller total is $736. Quite reasonable because still have one year warranty from seller, include GST. Seller said will ship along with charger and tempered glass. If get directly from taobao still have other fees to pay also but no warranty.

Office 365 on Android feels like it's on Windows lor... no difference I feel... but I don't do complex stuff on the tablet unlike my work laptop... so no tables or diagrams in my Word files, no complicated formulas for Excel and no video inserts for PowerPoint... OneNote works perfectly with my stylus... feels like MS Office that I am used to... that's all I can say...

Not sure how reliable this information is but if it's gonna come to Europe it's definitely coming to the rest of Asia as well... Fingers crossed otherwise maybe iPad alr haha

The 2020 Pad Pro 11.5" is limited stocks left now that Lenovo has released the 2021 model... so you might want to monitor the availability as you wait for availability for the other tablets... the thing is if you really must have Google Apps then you don't really have a choice... only the P11 Pad Pro 2020 gives you that option... alternatively you can take a chance that since the Mi Pad 5 is released in Europe, there will be a Euro ROM which would be GMS compliant and you can flash that once it is available provided Xiaomi doesn't play any bootloader tricks lar...

Just to add on a couple other places to get the matepad 11 cheaper than the $698 msrp, with the standard m-pencil and kb cover freebies included

- Qoo10 seller named Huawei experience center. Should be huawei's own official retail shop. Listing is priced at $698 but you can wait for qoo10 to release $50 coupon. Also applicable are the usual means for further discount on qoo10 like qpoints, giftcards, credit card rebates etc.

- There is a listing on carousell going at $659. Gave me his name and an address to find him. Turns out to be funan Gain City. Maybe promoter or staff thus the cheaper price. No complaints from me if i can get the tablet at a cheaper price, with official invoice to boot.

This shopee listing changed to sold out liao even though its showing as 0 sold. Pretty tempted to get the matepad 11 and resell the m-pencil and kb cover which i totally have no need for. If can sell the 2 freebies for around $100+ then the nett cost of the tablet would be around $500+ which is more in line with the prices for this tablet on taobao.

Matepad confirmed no global ROM... Huawei still under the US ban leh... whether got global ROM or not is Lenovo...
