Thinking of getting a stylus for quick writing of notes during meetings. The official one are expensive. Anyone has alternative? How is the experience?

I just bought the Pad and wondering the same hahaha. I've researched online and everyone who used alternative says it's not a great experience, some doesn't even work. I'm thinking of buying the official one and wondering if there's a good price somewhere, that's why i'm here haha.

They have balls to price it more than Apple's pencil haha

Apple Pencil is $129 for pencil 1 and $189 for pencil 2. xiaomi pencil is around $90, Far less than apple’s. but the experience from Apple Pencil is unmatched. i’ve used all 3 for note takings btw.

Apple Pencil got a lot of cheap alternactives though. Recently I bought one for less than $30 and found it is almost as good as the original Apple Pencil. Haha.

xiaomi pencil on the other hand dun have much alternatives though.

No it is not. As I said, not many alternatives for Android as it is too segregated. Got xiaomi, Samsung, Lenovo etc... I guess they all use sightly different tech.

If the pen works on future Mi Pad then i think still can consider buying original one but just scared next time change tech then render it useless.

What do you mean by experience better? Smoother? Features?

Cos i use it mainly for writing and perhaps drawings and editing photos so all i really need is for it to be smooth and no breaks in between then i'm happy haha.

Xiaomi pencil definitely can write and draw with no problems. Can draw straight lines with no breaks. can also wireless charge on the mi pad 5 as well.

The main difference between Apple Pencil 2 and cheaper alternatives boils down to the pressure sensitivity. Cheaper alternatives are good for writing, but if you want to use more force so that the line appears thicker, it won’t work.

Thanks for your inputs. I mainly write and draw shapes. I dun sketch so pressure sensitive is useless to me.

Any idea when we can get the SG official set?

I'm holding the SG official Pad 5 since last year!
