To be fair to mipad, their first generation was damn good and affordable. It lasted me quite a while until it suddenly just kapok black screen can't repair even at ah beng hp shops.
Really not all users want or need big screen. For example I just need something big enough to watch movies and read ebook on the bed. Anything too big will be heavy tiring to carry and binge watch also...
The 8” one?

I find bring out 8-9" is best cos one hand can hold. At home it's nice to have 10" above unless you lie in bed and use one hand to hold haha.

No, but at least on par with others like mi pad and redmi pad
Yes if you willing to pay more ($369) for 10.6” without LTE. Mi pad 5 will be more ex. Korea selling Samsung Tab A7 lite 4gb 64gb storage at $169. That one is like lelong

Hey guys.
Just want to check that mipad 5 is widevine L1 certified right?

I think this is something basic. Whereas the xiaoxin pad pro is only L3.

You are comparing a global ROM MiPad 5 with a China ROM Xiaoxin Pad Pro... of course the global MiPad 5 will have Widevine L1 certification plus Netflix HD playback cos Xiaomi sent the tablet for certification for both the Widevine L1 & Netflix HD certification... but Lenovo won't send the Xiaoxin Pad Pro for the certification cos it's not required in China... you can't access US streaming media content without jumping through the VPN hoop, and officially it's not supported, so none of the Chinese manufacturers will certify their China tablets but will certainly certify their global models... it's a quite simple calculus...

But it mentioned the global rom provided by the Chinese sellers that are selling xiaoxin pad pro is not capable of netflix HD as well..only the international lenovo model can.

But anyway I read from reddit, a buyer who bought CN rom able to stream in HD.

If the China variant has a global variant, and the specs are identical, then possible to flash the global ROM onto the China variant but you have to be able to overcome the regional check built into the ROM... there isn't a really reliable way to fool the regional check as far as I know so far... hence the ability to flash the global ROM to the China variant is hit and miss... not sure if the seller actually took the trouble to flash the global ROM properly or it's a fake global ROM... the latter is quite a problem cos you don't get any further updates and you don't know if that fake global ROM has any exploits which can be targeted by hackers... and once you flashed the fake global ROM in, not so easy to flash back to the China ROM... you need to be able to get hold of it... but if it's a really genuine global ROM, then it's good. But so far, don't have any local sellers on any of the platform marketing their global ROM can do OTA updates...

Just bought a ASH brand pen, but it is not working for pad 5 90% of the time.
Wonder why those Lazada reviews/comments said can work.

Seems like leaving the charging cable on charging, the pen will work

At this point I'm not gonna risk too much to buy other brands. But then if others say can work and yours need cable then maybe something is wrong with the pen? Refund it and get then to send another and video down your issue to them

My Xiaomi pad 5 is stuck with the numlock on everytime I connect a Bluetooth keyboard to it and I am unable to turn it off as the Bluetooth keyboard does not have a numlock button. The keyboard is working fine with other devices. This only happens after I updated the Xiaomi pad 5 to the latest version. Anybody facing the same issue or know how to solve it?

Strange issue. Only hardware or software keyboard too? Did you try other keyboard?

Maybe that particular keyboard BT connection is locked at caps lock. You keep your USB-C connected to the Mi pad then connect that BT Keyboard to it and play around with the caps lock and see if you can disable it

Thanks, I am able to use other keyboard to unlock the num lock but the problem will be back once the tablet is rebooted.
