Haha it survived long enough. Lime mentioned above, I don't think I run anything intensive on the tablet so it was really fine. My mipad1 was all along ok de which I have been using daily to watch videos on the bed, run light work in office together with desktop. Last week when I boot it up connecting to wireless sg as usual, it suddenly hang so I just shut down. After that it never cant turn on le... :(
I tried to do short-circuit like online teach but to no avail too

No wifi only version.
Hmm ok then I am correct. I see so far the cheapest for 10" is probably $400, which is double of 8" WiFi. Other than the bigger screen and slightly bigger batt, I am not sure if it's really worth the cost.

Btw mipad4 and miui users. Is there any apk which is similar to Samsung Dex? Really if there is such alternative, I may consider the 10".

Actually I find tablet market quite boring, though by right it can overtake laptop coverage if target at the right direction..

No such app like Samsung DEX... only option is to connect your tablet to an external monitor... but your tablet graphics may not play nice with the monitor... not sure even if Xiaomi MiPad 4 allows video out or not... cos it's still using microUSB connector... for Windows there are drivers which allow video to be ported out to monitor via USB... but Android I think you need costly software which may not work perfectly...

The price difference between the 8" & 10" is pretty large... but if you don't need the screen size, I think 8" is perfect size for carrying around... also try Qoo10 for pricing as mentioned above... if there are sale events, it could be quite a bit cheaper sometimes...

After flashing to HavocOS, the mipad 4 is so much better. more fluid performance & the UI is so much cleaner than the shitty MIUI.

Yes. MIUI I can feel lag and stutter when browsing apps. havocOS I have none. Infact u get pixel experience from the settings.

But it means the hotel TV must be a smart TV able to accept a wireless video signal? Or Chromecast also allows wired connections via a HDMI cable?
It connects via HDMI port so it will work on any TV as long as the TV has HDMI. Dumb TV also nvm. Just need to connect to the same WiFi.

Oh... Does this work better than casting directly to tvs that can do so? I've got really spotty wireless connection with practically every phone my family owns... Especially with streaming videos...
