Can I check what is the latest MUI version that mipad is now running on? Is it stable?

For 16GB mipad, how much of free storage is available after it is first power up?

i think it's 11GB free? can't rmb. MIUI 6.6.5.0 android 4.4.4. Some bugs like home screen reloading after launching some apps and going back to home. another thing i found buggy was the youtube app. sometimes when i load a video, it's very laggy for the 1st few sec like frames dropping all over.

anyway it's only $249 now after price drop and it's totally worth it!

Hi Audiology93

Thanks for the information. It is really helpful.
By the way, can the mipad support Miracast or wireless display screen mirrorring?

Does Mipad comes with Google Play Store?
Does the latest MIUI version still has the mipad heating up when watching videos?

You can buy mipad from China and flash using the international Rom.

It will become the same as what you get buying from mi.com/sg (as confirmed by mi sg).

Eyeing the 64GB model.

1. Yes. Can. Tested and tried on mine.

2. Yes with Google Play Store as long as it is a local set. It depends on what videos you are watching. If you're watching it from local storage, wont head up. But if watching from web browser, will heat up. Watching youtube only mildly warm.

Hi,
I just got my mipad and rooted on stable rom. However, I can't write anything onto my external sd card via wifi or usb. The only thing I can do is to unmount and physically remove it and use a usb adaptor to transfer. Anyone has any idea what's going on? Thanks.

If I remember correctly this is one of the limitation of the Android KitKat system. Any device running that will not have access to SD card write feature.

With Loliipop, you can write to the SD card if the app supports it. The app has to be specifically re-written to allow writing to SD card. On my Samsung Galaxy Note 4, I use an photo album app called Quick Pic. Previously when using the app in KitKat 4.4.2 on both the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S4, I cannot write to the SD card from within the app - so even simply things like rotating a photo was not possible. However, after my Galaxy Note 4 was updated to Lollipop this year and the Quick Pic app was updated, I found that I can write to the SD card from within the Quick Pic app now. Actions like rotation, cropping, moving pictures from one folder to another within the app are all now possible.

Hope this helps... so you might want to update the MiPad to Lollipop if it is available now and also check that the app you are using is also updated for Lollipop and that might allow you to write to the SD card from within the app.

Note that some apps are not updated even on Lollipop. One of my apps - OfficeSuite 8 which I use on a Sony Tablet Z still cannot write to the SD card even though my Tablet Z was also updated to Lollipop this year and the OfficeSuite 8 received an update. Just too bad lor... I have to find a work around... like save the Word file on system memory then transfer to the SD card using the File Manager from Sony lor...

Not KK limit. Is Miui limit. My old tab 3 on KK can do it.

Can I check what type of screen protector and casing you guys are using for the mipad?

Where is the recommended place to get them and the price you got it for?
