recv my 49" mitv2 yesterday, 1.1.78(Stable) firmware with the ads anyone on the latest firmware know if the ads are less intrusive?

Setting up & apks installation are actually very simple & easy. A really great & awesome TV at $639 (luckily didnt let go at offers of $650-670)

I am surprised to hear that such Tv is not approved for sale in sg. It has no warranty at all.

Do you know that Honda Vezel, Toyota Axio, etc and the rest of the Parallel Import cars is officially no warranty also? Except by the Parallel Importer themselves. LOL!!

3 out, in less than 1/2 year maybe 3A / 3S, and soon TV4.As long price / specs met your demand, just grab & dont think about it till maybe 2-3 years later. YOLO

Wrong. All parallel imported car are certified by LTA. Warranty is provided by the company who sell you the car. As far I know, Xiaomi parallel imported phone are not IDA certified. The rest of product if have power adapter, do not carry a "safty" logo certified by local authority.

It may be safer to get a Xiaomi TV box and connect to TV locally purchased.
Also one may want to take note these ip TV may finally has the contain blocked due to copy right reason.

Parallel Imported cars must pass the inspection by LTA for few purpose, one of them is for classification purpose also.

For Parallel Import cars, usually the warranty is covered by a few big workshop that tie up with the PIs. But it comes with terms & conditions. Try asking those that bought PI VW cars who kana gearbox problem.

As for power adapter and "Safety" sticker, how many family in Spore only get appliances that has that now? With people buying stuffs from Taobao, most come with 2 flat pins (China) connectors.

But end of the day, all I can say is "If scared, don't buy. If buy, don't scared."

Good questions...Power adaptor needs Safety label because mains voltage is involved. Plug used for main supply needs label. If Android TV box works with mains voltage instead of low dc voltage from power adaptor, then label also needed.

Rule of thumb is... anything that connects to mains voltage directly needs label.
