How much did you pay for the MyGica PT360? I got the PT230 for my PC already and I'll just use it for my PC.

Can you share the link that you bought from?

Item : DVB-T2 receiver Geniatech PT360 MyGica
Price : About SGD$38

I've successfully installed playstore on Xiaomi tv2 55" with the help from link given below. I was trying almost 6 months to do it and finally managed to see it running. Some apps will show "device not compatible" message, but still better than nothing.

majordroid.c m/how-to-install-the-google-play-store-on-the-xiaomi-mi-box-mini
can't install the framework, what is your
Fw version?

ok i manage to ROOT my MiTV2 55" via KingRoot
Installed RootExplorer with RW privileges.
Got the framework and play services installed but unable to add a google account.
moved those to systems/app but still no go.
Youtube works fine though and can change resolution now.
Chrome works (sort of)
But playstore will not (cos cannot sign in)

Anyhow i think i'm fine like that until i can find a solution
Of cos, if anyone can advise or share some knowledge, much appreciated.

Thanks!

I feel like getting the 55inch TV3 , but I see this thread like a lot of configuration and rooting required, but I really no mood to fiddle with all these nowadays.

Do you guys order from here?

https://xiaomi.world.tmall.com

Thinking of getting the 40 inch. Any users here? :)

In my opinion, getting the 40 inch model is really not that worth it. After including crating, shipping fee, agent fee(if you use buy4me service) and gst, you might be looking at paying around $500 or in excess of it. 40 inch fullhd smart tv for this price, you might as well just buy a model available locally so you can also enjoy warranty for ease of mind.

Yah. I have tried various means but just couldn't "sign in". I have gave up already. LOL!

Like you, as long as YouTube can play, ok already. As for Chrome, the browsing experience isn't great so I don't bother much about it.

Ok. If you only want a TV with all the normal function + YouTube + can watch some movies, can follow the following :

1. Use this to change the language to English :

2. Then just get the YouTube apk from :

http://www.androidapksfree.com/apk/youtube-apk-latest-version-download/

Just need TV Plus 2.0 and 布丁视频 (from : http://app.shafa.com/apk/budingshipin.html), you are good to go.

Agree. If getting non 4K and smaller than 55", no point. Might as well get this :

Item : Philips 50" DVB-T2 Full HD LED TV 50PFT5100 (with free Philips HD Smart TV box)
Price : About SGD$700

I manage to sign in to my account. But Playstore still doesn't work. Gives me the white screen n says connection cannot be established... Gave up since the local storage is miserable and u cannot even install Asphalt 8 to it. LoL

The TVPlus 2.0 app is good but i keep getting connection/buffering issues. I'm on MR 1gbps plan though. Other apps are fine... Wonder if it got to do with MR internal routing.

You should consider getting mitv 3 55 or 60 inch model. It is a very high end product at an unbelievable price. The motherboard is external which makes repair fairly easy. should the internal pcb spoilt on main panel, you can buy the spoilt pcb on taobao. The external motherboard can be upgraded every 24months due to technology obsolescence.

Considering the total cost of: tv, shipping fees, agent fees, gst, insurance and dunno what else

Plus there is a risk of damage along the way, no warranty support, Xiaomi aftersales support sucks in China anyway.

And there seems to be quite a few people complaining of black screen, half-black screen, noisy screen, light leakage, and vertical lines showing up within a few days/weeks after purchase.

So combining all the above, the qoo10 price is not attractive at all, the 65daigou price is borderline attractive, and the price if I bought through a 3 party freighter like HongXun Logistics is quite attractive. Why Xiaomi dun quick sell officially in Singapore? I woould be very willing to pay up to $1100-1200 for the 55 inch TV3, provided the image quality is good and there is full warranty and good aftersales support.

it's due to the legality of the content that the xiaomi tv can promise, you don't see xiaomi box officially sold in xiaomi SG for the same reason

Honestly speaking, heard from forwarder that there are still many people buying mitv 3 from china.

Price is the biggest factor. Xiaomi 55 inch 4k you pay around 1.1k-1.2 in total. For this price, you can only get a 48 or 49 inch 4k tv locally. People are more willing to risk not having warranty when the savings you get are substantial. However, as the post above mentioned, there are no guarantees your tv will arrive on your doorstep problem free. Also, its hard to tell whats the QC like for these xiaomi tv in terms of the parts and components they use. For them to sell at such a low price, its inevitable that they had to cuts some corners.

Same here. This is as far as I could get. Can sign in but just couldn't work.

I am on Starhub 200Mbps plan and AFAIR I got no connection issue with TV Plus 2.0. I just recontracted with Starhub and upgrade to 1Gbps too.

They gave me a package :

$88.80/mth for 1Gbps fibre + Cable TV.

Best part is that they waive first 6mths x $88.80 ($532.08) subscription.

So it works out to be about $67/mth for 1Gbps fibre with Cable TV + Digital voice of course.

Before you decide, you must ask yourself this question :

What if the Mi TV 3 spoilt less then 2yrs?

If you got the answer and still wanna buy, then ok.
