guys, there's a new MIUI update for Redmi 1S, JHCMIBH43.0. Some MIUIers from MIUI Forum reported that RAM management seems to have improved quite well after updating to this v43 update!

Main changes is the Malaysia sms issue for Malaysia customers, which is fixed now.

Redmi 1S WCDMA Stable Version (Global-MY) JHCMIBH43.0 Changelog & Download - Malaysia - MIUI Official Forum

or

Redmi 1S C/W Stable ROM (Global/Multilanguage) JHCMIBH43.0 Changelog/Download - Redmi 1S - MIUI Official Forum

15 pages of feedback and no 1 can provide any screenshot of the free ram they got, even though some said ram has improved. My stock rom when boot up already around 350-400mb free ram.
after some time of usage after the update, I get around 220 - 340MB of RAM usually. With more than two to three apps open, I get around 187MB of RAM, which is slightly better as previously it can get till 112MB of RAM.
Heard that they uses swap with internal memory for the more RAM though.. :)

If you deny those auto-start services (like speech to text, hangouts) in security, permission, auto start management you can get 300mb+ free ram. When I first received my 1S, it was only 200mb free ram.

You can check my free ram below (using dropbox) :

I see, it could also be because of my theme that I'm using. I see that you are using the default theme, that might account for the more RAM you are having.
The recent v43 update increased the RAM available amount too, so not a worry. :)

howdy friends,

Memory of phone has increased but by not much perhaps, 30-40mb on my set vs before. I doubt swap memory is being used as I still do face intermittent fc of certain apps when I use camera. Besides, nothing on changlog to suggest that there have been improvement on memory management.

Btw, is there a way to save screenshots directly to Micro SD with this new update (JHCMIBH43.0)?

Tks & Tks

Currently, there's no any way to save screenshots to SD card even with the recent v43 update. Only camera taken photos.

Ok, managed to find a way to save screenshots directly into micro sd card.

a) definitely, u need to be rooted.

b) download free "Screenshot Ultimate" app by "Ice Cold Apps" from google play store.

c) configure the settings of the above app and use default Xiaomi method to take screenshots which will directly, push screenshots into the memory and folder of your choice. ;)

p.s. above free copy of app has ads which I have blocked with 3rd party app. You may try to block ads by restricting data under Xiaomi green security icon > data usage > restrict. See if it works.
