expert, should i dl which ROM? i flashed to Global stable ROM but its locked my device. If i flash to china ROM, would i able to get english?

Gotten the Redmi 3s at the race course road famous exporter shop again.

India export model with fingerprint scanner at $165. Gold color. Global ROM installed.

Truly if not bcos of my dad preferring a 5inch, I would say the RMN3 is a better deal now at $225. Which i bought it at $240 for my mum around a month plus back.

But I gotta warn pple going there to buy. Don't expect service. You pay then you can test the phone. Make sure u bring extra sim and test on the spot after buying and confirm 7 days 1:1 exchange before you pay. Make sure u ask them write on the receipt. They can be chow kuan one.

They mostly sell export phones. Most brands and most models are all export models.

I also knew about this shop few years back from the forum and have bought 3-4 phones so far.

So far this year I have bought 2 RMN3 Pro and 1 RM3S from them. Touch wood so far so good.

Some people feel that the extra $50 to get local Redmi set with warranty is worth it, which I don't deny. But I think I can stomach the risk

Does this support dual SIM standby on 4G/3G simultaneously? Or will one SIM be on 2G if another is already on 4G/3G? Thanks to help evaluate

mine RM3S 16gb with fingerprint (china set) just 4G/3G + 2G.


Gotten mine $99 few days ago, didnt play with it much but here's a short review imho:

+ 5" handy size, slightly fatter than Max
+ Support QC 2.0/3.0 unofficially, though not at optimal speed (Tested getting ~1.7A 7.5V )
+ Decent camera in daylight, slight lag compared to other models ( Mi4i > Max/RMN3 > RM3S )
+ Decent battery life
+ Fingerprint sensor (similar to RMN3 / Max)
+ IR (similar to RMN3 / Max)
- No AC WIFI i.e 5Ghz
- No global MIUI 8 beta release as of yet ( = no dual whatsapp etc )
- No touch screen to wake feature
- Non full HD display @ 720p, though not that it matters much on a 5" screen

Basically its a slightly toned down + mini RMN3, at a cheaper price of course. If one prefers a small screen & using it mainly for basic calls, texts & web surfing, at <$160, sure why not. For multimedia/gaming, would definitely recommend Max or RMN3 instead.

The Redmi 3S can fit in the Redmi 3 Pro case but not the Redmi 3 case, as the 3S and 3 Pro both has a fingerprint sensor while 3 doesn't have one.

3S Pro and 3S Prime are very similar devices, both featuring the same specs but 3S Pro is the China variant while 3S Prime is thr Indian variant, which means the Prime will be preloaded with a Global ROM with Google Play.

Yeah both can support SG LTE network.

Should be safe on Lazada, as they offer buyer protection. Not too sure on reliability of sellers on Lazada though, but for promo code if you got SCB card then there's an attractive promo code for use. Do remember to use Shopback too~

The main difference is the GPU. SD430 has a stronger GPU and is more power efficient too.

So it is better to get 3s prime instead of 3s pro? Both have same specs, only diff in SD series.
