Its actually a data saving feature. It restrict downloads on data if the apps size is too huge. The setting can be change to un restricted. So no such stoppages or warning when downloading with 4G network when there are no wifi hotspot around.

Can check with bros here how do I enable to download app from Google play store using my data plan? Seems like it keep prompting me the app size is too large and require WiFi to download…

Guys. If you are having issues receiving notifications from certain apps,(eg: Pushbullet)
Disable the permissions manager completely and that will resolve all notifications issues

Enable developer mode> additional settings>
Developer options>enable>
Scroll down and turn off MIUI optimization
Reboot device
Open security app>permissions>Gear icon>disable the first option.


The permissions manager is junk anyway..

Yes, usable. Just follow the instructions that are available online to download the Google Installer apk and it will automatically install all necessary components for Google Play Store.

My usage pattern is just playing Pokemon Go, so I can't vouch for the full capabilities of this phone as a main workhorse phone.

If u want to use a phone as your main phone, perhaps can consider getting the Redmi 4 Prime?

Redmi 4 Prime is 3GB RAM, 32GB phone storage.

Your concern with the Redmi 4A might be valid, cos even before I start the game, the remaining RAM is already just 1GB. So it indeed might be a concern if it's gonna be your main phone to run the usual stuff like WhatsApp, Twitter, Telegram, Facebook, etc etc.
