What's the model number for this version of Redmi 4a? Is it 2016117? If so, then it's a little odd since it is expected to have a fingerprint sensor but I browsed through Mi Malaysia's website, the Redmi 4a they selling is like the Chinese version, no sensor at the back.

The box did wrote '2016117' at the row of Product Model, but I also felt strange with that the certification model is different from the actual model.

finally it's released in singapore but at $150. are those avaialble on qoo10 at $99 the same? which rom do they use? and which rom does the official one from the mi store have?

Local one probably use Global ROM, while the ones selling at Qoo10 are probably released in China and so use China ROM.

Mine uses China ROM, and today I just got approval to unlock my bootloader, so I am going to try installing Global ROM later.

Without any downloaded app, probably took up half of the ram. With apps installed , usually left with ard 800mb. It's sufficient for normal user. Heavy multi task user suggest at least 3gb ram.

Cos the bootloader is locked, so need to apply for unlock approval from Xiaomi. This is needed to install roms from a different track (ie from China rom to Global rom).

My local set Redmi 3S Prime (3GB RAM) with Global ROM, if i clear everything and reboot phone usually left with 1.7GB - 1.8GB ram.

Usually throughout the day my ram remaining usually hovers around 1.5gb to 1.7gb.

The lowest I hit (because I forget to kill apps, with Pokemon Go and Clash of Clans, Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp running) is about 850mb RAM remaining.

Enough for basic use, and for people looking to get it as a spare phone, or a phone for young children and elderly(especially 2G is sunsetting this April).

Btw I would like to report that I successfully flashed my phone to the Global rom. Not bad... comes with SwiftKey preinstalled.
