7.0.8.0 had the most bugs thus causing the delay of the global rom. Good luck with that.

After a whole day of usage, only encounter one-handed operation mode not working, and battery stat monitor inconsistent. Also read on miui forum that official global rom will be released tomorrow, so hopefully these bugs will be ironed out.

you off wifi, your battery sure got maintain 100%. if you on wifi, some Redmi note2 can drop 10%-30% battery over the night. I flash Poland ROM, with wifi on, 9 hours battery still remains 100%. haha

For me I rarely use wifi unless downloading massive gb files. My average daily use is mostly on cellular network, and therefore logical for me to test battery drain without wifi.

Sorry it is official global rom but still beta not stable. Got a feeling it be worst then China dev still. The dev cockup this time round due to Redmi Note 2 Pro timing.

China dev in general is better as more staff are dedicated to it. Just learn to flash gapps and you be better off. In terms of support of updates china dev is weekly while global is 2~3 weeks.

My advise is try to get the local official xiaomi version that retail at $229. Mine is bought from china and my brother got from 11 nov sale. Local version come with google play install and unlike my china version where u might get frustration from the sys install apps. One problem for export set is Xiaomi app store is the default app store where some of the google play apps r always found unavailable and there are no way u can update. If u r those who dont like to root the phone. Dont get the china export set.

Go to your contacts, then open up menu, depending on your settings, may need to press and hold. Over there can choose the contacts to display. If under there, you see whatsapp zero contacts means under App permission you didnt allow Whatsapp to read contacts. Need open up security to edit your privacy settings.

Lol. You downloaded your gapps wrongly. If you use opengapps, it is the purest gapps you can get, no hidden stuff. Also, you can set the default of app stores once you got gapps. Sounds like you use google installer from the xiaomi app store. Not recommended.

nothing to do with the permissions as I have granted properly.

As you can see below I already can see the whatsapp contacts but as a duplicate entries. they didn't combine together. not sure why. I have uninstalled whatsapp and resync still the same. I remember my Samsung phone it will modify the existing contacts so you wont see duplicate entries.

Same thing, go to contacts menu, click organize contacts, choose merge contacts.

If you buy Redmi note2, better flash Poland ROM which performs very stable with Google and without lots of xiaomi software. even local set, the ROM is not global ROM, it may be Hong Kong ROM.

It said "no duplicates found"

if I edit the contact and merge one by one then it work. but too tedious. I have few hundreds duplicates.
