It depend on how you define dudget phone. To some people, $200 for a phone is consider as expensive.

At least, I do not think Xiaomi defined Redmi series as low end/budget phone.

The memory management for this phone sucks. Tried out a display set at challenger. With only the stock apps, I could only free 650mb out of 2gb memory.

Go to updater. Click the 3 dots. Boot to recovery mode. When in recovery mode, select wipe option. Then go wipe cache only, once done, reboot. Confirm 1GB ram free space.

My lazada note2 came with preinstall google play... With V6.7.2.0 (China ROM)...try to upgrade to the latest global V7.0.12 but failed...only manage to change to the beta global V5.11.12

Currently the phone receiving the OTA V5.12...not sure if it's will eventually updated to the latest global ROM??

Was sending a mp4 video, 29sec long, 6.5MB size... then receive this message "Unfortunately, Whatsapp has stopped".
Then tried another mp4 video 4minutes long, 4MB size... successfully sent.

Is there any setting in Note2 to resolve this?

Just flashed to the stable V7.0.12....monitoring the battery life now....

For those flashing from V5.xx or V6.XX....kindly perform a wipe cache and data after successfully upgraded...encountering the google.play.system process stopped issue earlier on...

Do you have problems downloading files of similar size? I remember there is some setting in the security about download limits
