true , me too... this kind of case, if dropped is usually case there, phone here.
but its one of the nice case i've seen.

tpu casings are better imo.

provide all round protection.

But i feel without casing the phone is actually better to hold.. like the way its designed to be.. less chance of it slipping out of yr hands

Yeah this type unable to fully protect from drops, especially if landed on top / bottom = banana split

Am using this ultrathin soft case. Very satisfied, is with individual hole cuttings (camera len / fingerprint sensor) & embossed rims for protection as compared to the xiaomi original 1.
