MIUI and some other China UI implement such things to prevent apps taking unnecessary infos, as some rogue China apps tend to take extra users info which the app doesn't require.

In other words, other popular brands like samsung, LG, etc are not having such tight permissions rights like Xiaomi. Apps accessing your information without one consents
