Hello guys, can someone share where is the best place to get this phone? Looking for the most basic one for my dad. Seems like qoo10 got many versions and pricing. Are those suitable for local use? No warranty nvm but should support updates?

Updated to this firmware liao. But it seems like this firmware got battery drain issue. Both on my phone and my wife's RMN3.

Can any of you confirm?

din notice the drain as my usage on note3 was low over the weekend.
will monitor after full charge...

My mi note reboot frequently. After the recent update. Using with phobia. Any touch or opening certain app can just shut down n reboot.

Anyone also having same problem it's on mui8 KitKat.

It happen to all the 5 Xiaomi phone in the pass and now on Mi Max too. Certain version of Miui do not have this issue.

Me too. ROM version 6.12.1
Overnight went from about 50% to 5%

Redmi Note 3 Special Kate Edition Unlock Official Guide

Spent couple of days fastboot-ing > 10+ Kenzo and Kate rom to unlock after I receive the unlock permission. Needless to say Unlock is not straight forward, en.miui forum many people have stuck at 50% so did i. Below are the steps I found out to unlock Special Edition.


Downloaded Kenzo 6.8.18 CHINA Dev Rom
Downloaded Kate 6.8.18 Global Dev Rom
Copy NON-HLOS.bin FROM Kate to Kenzo
Emergency Fastboot
MiFlash Kenzo 6.8.18 CHINA Dev Rom (with Kate Modem due to extra LTE band or else will bootloop)
Enter phone, I use Mi Account ID (not mobile number) to login mi account on phone
Also login to mi Unlock software.with Mi Account ID (not mobile number)
Success!! 100%

- Check unlock status - via adb > fastboot oem device-info
Device Unlocked: True

I got the Redmi Note 3 (kenzo) today. The About Phone page states 7.5.2.0 LHOCNDE. How do I check whether there are any spyware or malware installed on phone?

EDIT: After the phone display resumes from standby, there are pictures of girls. Not to mention the apps with chinese names. How do I install an official english rom of 7.5.2.0?

my redmi note 3 has a MIUI OTA update and i downloaded and updating it

But it keep rebooting during the update at mi logo even tho the progress bar not 100%

is it normal?

this is official update from OTA.....not flash myself

the update message say updating MIUI, don't reboot the device but then it ownself keep rebooting before progress bar finish.....how now ah?

Happened to me too. Kate. Bootlooped when ota upgrade fr global dev 6.11.24 to latest 6.12.1 progress bar always reach abt 20% then auto restart. Gave up aft 40 min.

Not need go service centre. Use emergency adb fastboot n fast boot whatever latest rom. U are recommended to wipe all hence data will be lost. U may try keep data n miFlash to see if can boot up or not. Wipe all as last resort.

wait for 12.12 at qoo10 or lazada.
but take note

Note3 got export and local set abt same price you get
export set = 3gb + no warranty
local set = 2gb + 1 yr warranty
you need pay more to get local 3gb version with warranty.

export set are like special edition or KATE version. external casing and glass protector very hard to find due to 2mm longer in size... hardly can find in taobao too.

confirm yours is stable not developer rom. CN most likely is china rom not global and that explain why u got apps with chinese names.

to ans you. you can factory reset your phone (tick wipe sd). means u lose everything and the phone is like out of the box condition.

if you wish to change to global rom (do away with the chinese apps etc.)
google emergency adb reboot.
download miFlash
download latest stable global rom.
flash it using miFlash and tick the Clean all option on bottom right.

kenzo local set if you got the budget for 3gb ram.
these days all phone need 3gb that colleague say butterly smooth with his huawei p9. i replied him 2gb shld be ok bah if pple like me don't mobile game. he don't agree.... so well.

kenzo or kate variant both hardware same. only kate support more LTE band.
good if you travel to taiwan and EU countries only.

can consider note4 mediateak cpu if you not into flashing custom rom. snapdragon are more supported by xda for custom rom e.g. cynamod.
