Hi folks, I managed to find a $189 3gb/32gb note 4x local with 1 year warranty. Will rooting it void warranty?

Unlock phone void warranty?

Anybody here bought the 16GB version and flash a custom ROM?

178 for 3gb/32gb 6 months warranty
Can buy?

Store warranties (not the official 1 year Xiaomi local warranty) are pretty much useless. They can give you all sorts of excuses for not honouring your warranty, or they may even just close shop and reopen somewhere else with a different shop name.

Basically, you should just treat anything other than official Xiaomi local warranty as having no warranty.

Which isn't a big deal at all because as long as it's not a lemon set and does not have any problems within the first few days, I have found that all my Xiaomi products lasted way beyond their warranty periods (in fact NONE of my XM products have had any issues). And I have owned quite a fair bit: Redmi 1, Redmi Note, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 4X, and Mi Max 2. All have no issues so far and most of them are export sets.

Do take note that screen cracks are also NOT covered by the official Xiaomi local warranty anyway.

Try checking the official web site. If it's unclear, assume that any of the above will void the warranty. Then, you'd might as well just get a cheaper export set.

yea I agree ... often the local warranty sets price quite big difference in pricing against the export sets (when at rock bottom)

and many ppl here crack their big screen when dropped

so I think keep the savings in pocket more practical ... rather than later they tell you "user fault not covered"

That's right, $180 export set vs $245 agent set is $65 per set. Good enough to justify for the risk. After all, if you get a defect set, seller usually grant you a replacement and not repair (as they can send back to China/Hong Kong for repair).

Some of the differences I found between Note 4 and 4x on the internet, is it true?

Note 4 has IR port in the middle of upper side - Note 4X has IR port on the left side (left on picture) of the upper side

Also Note 4 has screws on micro USB side and wider space for speakers (6 dots on each side) - Note 4X has no screws on micro USB side and smaller size opening for speakers (5 dots on each side)

hi all, sorry if this qn has been asked before. Am using Note4X right now and using their Note app. I realised that this note app only have basic font and option to add in photos, no way to BOLD, ITALIC or UNDERLINE, or even change color of the fonts. may I know anyone used this and how to go about having some font edit in its note-making app?
Thanks in advance for advice

buy a leather pouch that can fit hp, money and cards instead of finding those flip case.

those can fit most kind of handphones, so you don't have to find a new case when you change hp.

Hi !

I'm confused. Is it the Redmi Note 4/4X that is different between the Singapore/China version or the Redmi 4/4X ?

I'm actually getting a case for Redmi 4X. I think the issue is with the Redmi Note 4X, right ?

Thanks for your help.

Good point but not sure if I can stuff that into my rear pocket but I'll do a feasibility study.

In addition, anybody know what stylus work on the Xiaomi Note 4x? I'm so used to an Spen that I prefer using a stylus.
