Hi My Mi Note 4x has this problem too.

Just install this app from playstore
"SoundAbout" free version will fix this problem.

Use it to toggle betwen the earpiece - speaker etc..

Do I have to toggle it every time I connect a earphone manually, or is it an automated process?

No need everytime, but occasionally i have to toggle it again, probably i reset my phone or something I am not sure.

Note 4 is local warranty 1 year.
Note 4X is export set, with 1 month warranty from shop.

Both Note 4 and 4x had export version. Different is warranty version (Xiaomi agent set) bassically a Note 4x version but named and Note 4.
To Miui, both are displayed as Note 4. 4 and 4x has some physically diffetent in real. But not for Note 4 warrant set vs Note 4x.

1st one is 1 year local warranty

2nd one is export shop 1 month warranty

Top IR blaster also different for 4x and 4, bottom speaker as well but that's important only for casings, if not, hardware is exactly the same.

can change settings under lock screen + password, choose the amount of time of inactivity for the phone to go to sleep

Yeah, I just checked, it's $169 before any discount. Lowest I bought was $149 before discount and $131.12 after 12% off.

For those wanting to buy the 4x (3GB/32GB), wait for 12.12 to see if it drops to $149 or lower.

It's the battery life+smooth performance that makes note 4 shine, furthermore miui ish really a blast to use.

Used to lub sony xperia but they let me down on battery dept apart from their compact series, samsung just too overpriced.

Overall xm note 4 still the best.

Agree.

The recent custom ROMs and also MIUI really allow the Note 4x to shine. It's a good trade off between battery and computing power.

The 4000mAh battery can last for ages and it's even more powerful than the newer A1 with 3080mAh.

Dimensions and weight is also excellent.

The only fault is probably the inferior camera compared to the A1 but a camera doesn't really matter to me (the price does).

For those who doesn't mind camera quality, the Note 4x (Snapdragon) is still a very good phone.
