Hi guys, I am on a tight budget as my pay is relatively low, but I would like to buy a decent main phone for messaging, facebook and watching the occasional YT/Whatsapp videos. Is this Redmi Note 4x worth the money or better to spend another $100 for A1 near-stock android?

P.S: Anybody know where to find the Miku blue version from authorised retailers?

My only dislike about this phone is the camera.
But for sub 200, can't really fault it. U'll be amazed by the amount of phone u'll get.

Is the photo quality comparable to iPhone 5? I am using a 2nd-hand iPhone 5 handed to me by my sibling, if the quality is roughly the same, I don't mind

Can recommend app to monitor data usage? Currently using my data manager but it didn't manage to capture data usage most of the time.

Miui got built-in data monitor feature

If u realise, miui will kill the app that r not using so u can lock the app from being killed when u clear the memory. Got few other steps to prevent app from being killed but I forgot how liao. Something to do with the battery optimisation

The Xiaomi Mi A1 looks interesting; it has 64GB Storage and 4GB RAM. However, the battery is only 3080 mAh and the price is expected to be at least $100 more.

For the Redmi Note 4X (4 Global version), you get a lot of phone for under $200. It's definitely value for money.

I doubt you will find the Hatsune Miku in local Authorised resellers. The Global Version with local warranty only comes in Gold, Black, and Gray. For the Hatsune Miku, you would need to get an export 4X set.

I'll take the Note 4X then...

But I have seen some stores in Qoo10/Shopee that do sell Blue but didn't state that it is an export set or China ROM so I'm unsure

You can try to get it in Hong Kong Xiaomi home. After exchange is about S$308 for 64G. Actually if you compare price with Xiaomi sg Redmi note 4 64G version. Price is not much of different. But you get dual camera etc.

Downside as you mention. Battery is down to 3080mA. But you get fast charge, faster WiFi compared to Redmi Note 4 (or Redmi note 4x parallel imported set).

Bought the local Note 4x and probably my best buy ever. Powerful battery with good SD processor. Cant ask for more.
