oh i'd rather wait for official version then

i want a rom that i flash one time then can use OTA thereafter

dammit i want to do it before i start using it.

Official rom was out long ago. This is the recovery rom :http://bigota.d.miui.com/V9.2.7.0.NEIMIEK/miui_WHYREDGlobal_V9.2.7.0.NEIMIEK_b6ab1f7b5b_7.1.zip

If you want to do it via fastboot method go to http://en.miui.com/download-342.html#508

Select flashing guide, look for fastboot updates then search for Note 5 Global Stable

Would say China Rom is still the best from past experience. Just need to use the Mi Store App, search for Google Play, then it will install Google Play store from there.

thread got removed already

lucky i never install... got virus?

Apparently the thread was removed because it was a leaked rom.
Also, this update can only be flashed after unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP onto the device because it hasn’t been approved for installation through the official updater app.

While waiting for the official Oreo Global ROM, you can just install Gapps using the guide and use it first ...

A direct competition to the rn5 has been released by Asus. zenfone max pro m1 with 5000mah battery, 18:9 1080p display, sd 636, at 10999 indian rs for 3/32 and 12999 for 4/64.

The 13mp omnivision camera is likely worse than rn5 though.

The stock android and no camera bump makes this phone an incredible buy if the cameras isnt too bad.

Sent from Xiaomi REDMI NOTE 4 using GAGT

I rather get the Note 5, for its better camera. :o

nvm the asus got so cheap by leaving out key features like 5ghz wifi support.
60 mbps on your typical 2.4ghz N is probably decent enough but as someone who uses wifi for FTP, AC wifi is a very nice thing to have.

what's the cheapest price for RN5 at the moment please?

thinking of getting one to replace the mi max 2 that I have because the camera for mi max2 seriously sucks especially for the video cos it keeps on refocusing.

RN5 seems to be the most value for money phone with a decent camera now

I just bought one for $269.10, 4/64GB. $299 - $29.90.
