Redmi 1S will mostly replace the Redmi 1, or even sell both at the same price, but most likely they replace 1 with 1S.

Yeah, soon after 8th July, the hwz marketplace will be filled of Redmi Note..

honestly if u already have redmi 1 as a backup. don't buy note.

wait till you brick your redmi 1 before you buy anything new.
with their low quantum, resale value is tbh lmited.

also they will consistently churn out new sets every few months over the next few yeas to gain market share with their low margin pricing.

buy only if you need it now. I wanted to buy redmi since about 2 months ago. Till now i am still pondering

Whether you are are planning to replace your Xperia Z or redmi with redmi note, its not worth it.

Your main daily driver is a Xperia Z which has a camera that is much better than the redmi note, higher res screen and other specs that are similar or else superior to the redmi note, plus its IP55/IP57, plus i think now the Xperia Z firmware is 4.4 kitkat as compared to the note 4.2.2.

Changing to a Redmi note will most likely be a step backwards.


As for your redmi, its just a backup phone, its already a good phone so don't spend anymore money to get the redmi note.

Like some bros above say, its just hands itchy, use the money go bring your gf/family go have a good meal or buy other things better.

I played with it already. Quality of the build is not as good as Redmi as its gives you a very plastic feeling esp the battery cover. Design and build issnt good just that its worth the money for its hardware inside and the OS.

I dunno why they use such plastic to make the phone as other china phone of similar prices use much better material. If you use it naked the back will be very prone to scratches and when you press harder it will give you a squeezing sound. But if you use it in protective case then better just that it will get hot with it.

Maybe to cut cost, or else how to be competitive in China market. So rather spend more $$$ on h/w then the cover. There is always 3rd party cover to exchange from if u want too.

Ppl buy because of the branding they have. Abit more famous than those other china players but honestly their product the quality really not as good as the others in China its just the hype that cause buyers to buy them. I am ex-user for Mi3 and Redmi. Most people buy them to use as spare phones.

Hmmm.... u refering ZTE, Huawei? But their phone is expensive. I also using Redmi, no complain of it, just that it is not compatible to Smartwatch2.

They got low range phones lately but good spec too. Got small brands too like ZOPO and many others their spec and build better than XM just that their advertising not as much so not as popular. I am alway in China so afew days I will walk in their market so get to see and a play alot of phones. Now so long that they are registered phone factories their quality not bad already getting better and better. China big market now so everyone is trying to get their legs into the game
