For Web UI, initial setup of Xiaomi China routers like BE5000 can not be translated into English by Google Translate. But it is not so difficult.

1) Welcome screen

2) Setup WiFi and Admin password

3) Done. It will show the WiFi password and admin password.

4) Now you can go to 192.168.31.1 and use Google Translate.

Thanks Xiaofan for the posts!

Before I saw the post I was fumbling through the settings and I am not sure if I screwed up somewhere.

I accidentally configured the BE7000 as an AP. Now I cannot access the router via the 192.168.31.1 at all.

I can access the internet through the router but I cannot access the router firmware interface at all.

What should I do?

When you switch the router to AP mode, it will actually prompt you the new IP address. If you did not save the IP address, it is also not an issue, you can get the IP from the up-stream router (eg: the ONR)

Once you have access to the AP mode, you can switch it back to router mode.

Thanks!

I will try when I am back to my router!

Btw how is the BE7000 performance compared to the other routers in the market now?

I understand this isn't a true WiFi 7 router and it's only a WiFi 6 router at best in terms of the range and throughout. But I am not sure if this router is overkill for my needs.

I am currently using this concurrently with my R7000 router to maximize the 2.5gb bandwidth.

Xiaomi BE7000 (dual band BE7000) should be much better than your Netgear R7000 (dual band AC1900) in terms of wireless throughput performance. I do not have experiences with any Netgear routers so I am not so sure about coverage. But I would still guess that Xiaomi BE7000 will beat your R7000 in terms of coverage as well.

You can just use it as a good WiFi 6 router since it does not support 6GHz and 320MHz channel bandwidth. On the other hand, when you have WiFi 7 clients, WiFi 7 features will help to improve on the reliability of WiFi connection (eg: MLO, MRU and preamble puncturing).

Thanks!

Sorry another question on the dual band and tri band feature.

When I have dual band, there is 2.4ghz and 5ghz. When I enabled tri band, there is an additional 5ghz game band.

What is this 5ghz game band and which feature should I use? Dual band and use 5ghz or tri band and use 5ghz game band??

Please do not use the triband feature of Xiaomi BE7000 as the reviews show bad WiFi performance in triband configuration. Just use it as dual band.

If you need triband, you have to go with higher end models like Xiaomi BE10000 (2.4GHz, 5GHz-1 and 5GHz-2) , or go with true WiFi 7 routers like TP-Link Archer BE805 (2.4GHz, 5GHz, 6GHz, around S$400+ BNIB from Carousell).

I see. Thanks for the in depth recommendation.

Not sure on that case if I should have just saved the money to just get an Asus wifi 6 or tp link router which only costs around 50 to 100 dollars instead. Haha oh well

TWT improves mobile devices battery life, but may cause connectivity issues with some devices.
You can try enabling and if it causes issues, disable it.

My Poco f5 shows a link speed to the 5ghz band BE7000 as 2882mpbs. Is this normal? Is this the max it can go?

Yes, this is the max it can go ( 2 x 2 AX/BE 160MHz, 4096 QAM).
Thanks so much!

Btw I decided to use only the dual band feature instead of the tri band and I disabled the 2.4ghz band and only use the 5ghz as the main one. I also am using the BE7000 as an access point mode instead of router mode as my old R7000 router is already configured nicely so don't want to further touch it. And also as a backup spare dual band router for devices near it.

Thanks again for all three valuable advice!

Sorry I was reading up more on this router and I found that this router can support 2.4ghz, 5.2ghz and 5.8ghz band??

How come when I enabled the tri band I could only see 2.4ghz and two 5ghz band?

Very confused.

The two 5GHz bands:
5GHz-1: 5.2GHz
5GHz-2: 5.8GHz

Another thing is, is it recommended to use MLO?

I have it disabled for now as I cannot use it if I am only using the 5ghz-1 which is the 5.2ghz band.

And another
Oh so technically the 5.8ghz band is faster? But you still recommend using only the main 5ghz which is the 5.2ghz?

No, when configured as dual band, it is 4*4 BE 160MHz on the 5GHz-1 band OR 4*4 BE 80MHz on the 5GHz-2 band.

When configured as triband, it becomes 2*2 BE160MHz on the 5GHz-1 band AND 2*2 BE 80MHz on the 5GHz-2 band.

As mentioned before, based on the testing results, Xiaomi BE7000 performs poorly when configured as a triband router, just forget about it.

Anyway, you have to play with the router and see which settings to use.

I only have Xiaomi BE5000 and Xiaomi AX3000T myself.
