Priced at 999RMB preorder。

The Mi AX9000 router is a Tri-band router that supports both 2.4 and 5G bands and is powered by a hexa core Qualcomm chipset (4 CPU + 2 NPU) under the hood. A notable inclusion is that the Chinese tech giant has also offered a third 5G_Game band as well, which as the name suggests, is clearly dedicated towards gaming. Furthermore, the AX9000 offers 4×4 160MHz bandwidth over the 4×4 80Mhz that was found in the AX3000 series routers.

The new WiFi router also supports MU-MIMO and OFDMA, meaning it can support connectivity for up to 16 devices. Looking at the design, the router features a unique aesthetic with its ‘X’ shaped cross LEDs on the top of its octagonal shaped router. Four antennas can also be observed with the rear having four LAN ports as well. Notably, the company has also offered a USB 3.0 port. For cooling, the device also sports a single fan that can keep the router cool.

https://www.acwifi.net/13598.htmlChinese site speculation about the HW specifications, this one is much worth buying than Xiaomi AX6000, with faster CPU and USB 3.0 ports. Hopefully the 2.5G LAN ports are more useful than the Xiaomi AX6000.

In the meantime, Xiaomi AX3600 is still the best buy for hackers because of the possibility to have SSH access.

imho
very good value for money for the specs but pointless as an edge gateway as it has very limited features as an edge gateway and is known to track user and sends data back to xiaomi without user consent.
If used as an AP, AX6000 is better or even better AX3600 much better value.

can just set the dns of the router itself to something random to prevent this.
partially. there are still hardcoded ips that it sends to.
u can easily check this by putting it behind a firewall and monitoring it.

only way is to block all outgoing traffic from the ip or removing the gateway ip from the unit.

sounds good if using this router as a dumb AP!

ax6000 would make more sense due to 160mhz channel width. yet again, when the global firmware comes, i doubt it will communicate with xiaomi servers
i have monitored ax3600 on both china and global firmware. it sends data out.

you know 160mhz is more like a market gimmick right? first your end device have to support it and if it does it only make sense if you use the 2.5G port. 80mhz ax already tops out the 1Gbps ethernet limit.

4x4 160mhz! Hope it's not enabled by default or trigger-happy by the clueless users flooding the channels!
Guess my quiet day are numbered soon... o_O

given ax6000 and ax9000 currently does not have known exploits to enable ssh. they can only run stock china firmware. and that means on 160mhz they will use ch 36-64 at full 30dbm tx power. to avoid the crowds you can use an AP that use ch 100-144. most of the enterprise guys like ubiquiti supports these dfs bands.

erm if buy this as AP, like overkill
Indeed for most users. Xiaomi AX6000 or AX3600 may already be sufficient.

But for those who need wireless mesh, two units of Xiaomi AX9000 may be a good alternative to Asus Zenwifi XT8 or Netgear Orbi RBK852. And the price is much cheaper.

Good for SingTel ONR users as well.
