Short of showing you my house layout, I can tell you it works. The map will show in lines its movement, how it got around say chair legs, and because it uses a radar, it will indicate where it thinks the walls are. I used to keep my sliding doors slightly open only so it doesn't go into unwanted areas, it can detect the wall behind the door but you can see it was unable to reach it which is cool.

Buy the most basic set, then go Taobao and stock up on replacement parts just in case. Such as brush and the HEPA filter. For me I bought the virtual wall strip from Taobao to tape the toilet entrances and I can say it works.

How to apply the virtual wall strip? in term of application, paste on the floor and it wil not go over the area? example just in front of the wire?

This has to happen now. Yesterday, my Neato ran about 10 minutes, finished up a room (we don't let it clean whole house 1 go). When I set it to clean another room, it gave the error 3000, sounds like the laser head cannot move. I googled that there are users with same problem htough different model. It is that the battery is too depleted that it cannot move the laser head anymore. I power on-off it, battery became flat from full.

So I let it charged a full day. This morning tested again. Same error, power on-off, battery becomes flat, totally flat.

So, now, a new battery from Neato Singapore is $130 (the guy may change for me). Or I should just hoot a new Xiaomi?
