Connect your pc with ethernet to the ONR/ONT to see if you can access the internet form there.

If you can it's not the "modem" fault.

And if you are using Singtel check to see if you are using a ONR or ONT for an ONR you can't attach a router to the "modem" you have to set your router to ap mode. If you are using an ONT, you have to set a vlan tag on the wan port or switch the profile to Singtel.

It should work with starhub. What are you hoping the Xiaomi will do better than the dlink?

Can advise how to connect Xiaomi router to StarHub cable? I connect to the WAN but get that no internet error. Sorry I’m an IT noob here so please teach me senpai....

P.S: I tried some guys earlier comment to connect to avoid double network error... but also failed

Are you on cable or fibre broadband.

If it is used router then try to do factory or hard reset first.
This is to remove any previous IP in the router in the previous settings.

Should it still not working, maybe try to contact 1633 direct to Broadband tech support line, not cs.
Inform them on your connection problem as they can see your connection at their end.
Follow their instruction..

For cable broadband if you change your cable modem, you need to inform them on your new cable modem.

Wow thank you bro!

Here's what I did:
1. Reset the xiaomi router.
2. Called up 1633 then direct myself to the Starhub cable broadband technical service line
3. Explained my situation and the customer service officer went to reset the modem
4. Volia! Internet back on!

Everything in less than 15 mins! :D

Kam xia many many!!!

Trust me, 1st Gen/3rd gen xiaomi routers are heaps better then gen 2. It's like no man's land. At least gen 1/3 has support for 3rd party firmware. No such luck for my gen2 *sigh*

Hi guys, just a disclaimer i’m completely clueless about routers or internet stuff but basically im looking to change my default singtel router to the xiaomi router pro as i have many deadzones in my house. wifi superrr weak in master bedroom and the singtel router is in the corner of my 5 room flat. so im just wondering how to set the router up? im currently signed to the Singtel fibre broadband 1gbps. for example the new router connect to where? ONT? which port? etc. if anyone can provide me with a step by step guide i’ll greatly appreciate it 😅 sorry very new to this. thanks!

If you are clueless, you should not touch the singtel router. The easier way is to keep the router and connect another wireless router or AP to improve the wifi coverage.

If you can downgrade the plan, change to 300Mbps or 500Mbps.
