Free gift according to Sony site:
WF-SP800N (Black)
Wireless Fast Charge Powerbank
Xperia 5 III Leather Phone Case

I thought 5 III cannot support wireless charging or something's changed?

Spoke to the sales assistant at Westgate today. The preorder period is for the entire month of November, and the phone only ships December 22nd. The demo unit should be arriving soon.

I got the call from Sony 313 Orchard yesterday along with the email

When I asked about other colors, I was told that there will be only green and nothing more nothing less at this point

Kinda deal-breaker to be honest, but then again given current situation, 1.5k SGD for a near-flagship phone is quite tempting but then again Samsung seems more price-competitive this time

Because Sony mobile's business strategy to stay profitable is to price the few units they sell as highly as possible. If they cut the prices too soon, they end up with the LG effect, where people only buy them when it is seriously discounted.

Would have preferred pink actually

I was hoping for pink, then if not, black also. Now deciding if I should go ahead or hold some more

I took another look on the expansys website; the pink this time looks bad for some reason, so I may just either go for pre-order green right now and use a printed cover (I recall Sony Singapore did a partnership before?) to make up for it, or just wait for 5 IV

Yea, not pink enough. It may be another one year if you decide to wait. :s13:

If you find any good cases on shopee, let me know. The pre order bundled case does not seem to protect the sides.

SD 888 is a gamble, tia gong it has issues
To be fair, it sounds like Sony managed to tame it well in Xperia 1 III so some concerns mitigated, but still on the fence due to this and other stuff

Yeah SD 888 has heating issues. If it heats up pretty badly for xperia then the rest of the phones using SD888 can also forget about them.

I will not take the risk esp when chip is made by Samsung, known for its crapxynos. It is not Sony's fault though

Well done Sony, you are ALWAYS few month late after announcing your device.

Must well you announce it in Nov and launch by Dec within 1 month when the hype is still around. You want hype and sale you must time your launch like the rest of the world and how big player like Apple and Samsung did. 😂

Anyway, maybe Sony don’t see Xperia phone as an important business, they have more business unit that earn way more.
