I read several reports that the SP does not have the shatter proof film built in.

O, then my eyes must have fail me.

I thought I saw the stock anti shatter screen was on the SP.

My friend said his SP experienced a fatal freeze issue yesterday, the whole phone refused to respond and the screen just freezes. Took him a tough time to restart the set since the battery is inbuilt.

Yup there are no default screen pro apply for SP. The smoothness will be on par with Iphone.

If your SP freeze no worry you can open up the back cover. Underneath there a rest button for you to restart. Slightly Above the transparent element and in the middle

Cool down.. I am not insulting your favorite phone's UI. Just sharing my experience.

P.S. I think I better avoid sharing my opinion in Sony and Nokia threads. So many fanboys there ... phew

Touchwiz? Seriously?

I'd rather take a lightly skinned android that performs fast than something loaded with so much eye candy that despite having top notch hardware still has minor tiny lags.

My galaxy s, s2,s3 all had custom vanilla android on it, I can't stand crapwiz. My Xperia Z is on Sony ui for the past month and I have no plans of flashing a custom rom as of yet...

Should I get class 4 or class 10 microSD card? Thinking of 16/32GB, any idea if the class of the microSD card would make a difference to the performance?

By the way, anyone know if the xperia supports the class 10 microSD card in the first place?

Thanks in advance for sharing.

Yes, all Xperia Smartphones from Sony support up to 64GB and Class 10 MicroSD card.

I am using the SanDisk Class 10, 64GB on my Xperia Z and I have test that it also work on Xperia SP.

Thats good to know. I haven't bought the sd card yet. Probably looking at 32gb. I am supposing a class 4, 6 or 8 card's transfer rate will be slower than a class 10?

Just not sure if the phone is capable to support at the max speed of class 10 or is it just operating at maybe class 6 or 8 speed?

Also I read somewhere it says for 64gb card, it will save as FAT32 and file size is limited to 4gb. Not too familiar with these tech stuff..

There is no class 8, just 4/6/10. It means the minimum speed for both read and write for the card.

To be honest, a class 4/6 would more than suffice, a class 10 is for HDV recording, imagine the amount of data going through.. But most people would overkill and not all are power users that will use the class 10 bandwidth fully, much less UHS-I.

It's a bit like buying a Lamborghini for SG roads, you never really hit vmax 95% of the time. My last word is, if you feel the extra money is nothing, then overkill away. Even if you watch HD videos, a class 4 read speed will suffice, my own class 4 read goes at like what, 12mbps? It's just the copying to the card that is slow, around 5-6mbps? My class 4 goes at 11.3mbps write so all's good. But I do notice the higher the capacity the slower the speed.. 32gb goes at 11 for write, and its a class 10.

Thanks for the clarification :). I will probably be going for the class 6 as I do not really record videos. If price is just a minor difference, probably get the class 10 instead.

Using more for storage of pics, music and documents. Transfer speed not an issue as it can be done at a leisurely pace.

My tip is wait for the PC show at the end of the month, get Silicon Power. Lifetime warranty.
C4/6/10 is 23.5/25/30.50 last show for 32GB.

STAY AWAY FROM SANDISK. RUN ROAD IF YOU MUST. THEY ENGINEER THEIR SH*T down to the bare minimum. Somemore 5 years warranty only, and more ex.
