I am trying to register the phone for the online warranty but encountered problem with the serial number.

From the box, I entered the number that says "S/N: xxxxxxxx" but the system doesn't recognizes it.

Seems strange...

Outside the prices have but not so enticing... Popular roadshow last year had, was like $37.50 when the ITshow 2012 was $32. Elsewhere it was $39.50 at shopping malls..

So you get the idea.

Oh okay. Gonna wait for coming IT Show then since not in rush :D

Testing out a set of SP for the last 2 weeks.. so good so far except once screen freeze.. buttons are working but not the screen, have to open the back cover and press the reset button.. notice the wifi connectivity is a little weak though

Thanks for the feedback. Got a white SP on Sat and updated to the .257 firmware. No freezes so far.

I noticed that the screen will occasionally fail to register touches most prominently at the bottom row Back and Multitask buttons. It seems to become more frequent when the phone is horizontal. Anyone else observe this?

When compared to S3, WIFI is weaker, and touchscreen is less sensitive. Intend to remove the protector and compare again.

What I can say is that the functions are just nice and not overclock or over tweak like the S3. Koreans are good at maximize the output of every feature in their product or smartphone which result in the drop of stability and reliability while the Japanese will try to balance the overall performance of the phone.

So it is not surprising that you find the WiFi reception is a little weaker but the battery performance will be much better than your S3. =:p

Some corrections on the bolded part above: It can happen anywhere on the screen, in any app.

Video of the problem:

Sammy hardware is known for its high performance, also infamous for power-hungry and generating more heat.

On the other hand, Qualcomm chips does not only seek top performance but also power efficiency and lower heat output compared to competition. Its hardware is built to be more balanced.

Thanks but it's not a keyboard issue as it happens on any keyboard - I was using swype and had the issue, so I tried the Sony default keyboard and it was affected too.

It can happen in any other app as a button that cannot be pressed, and even on the android system softkeys.

Currently the prime suspect is the screen protector...

When having the trial set, I am using the phone naked without any screen protector and no problem with the touch screen.

Take note that Xperia SP is the first Sony Smartphone without the default Anti-Shatter film glued on compared to other Xperia Models. =:p

Haven't encountered the screen sensitivity issue part so far.

Wifi is getting full signal within about 6m of the router. 50% at about 10m away. I am using a cisco linksys router. Not sure if this is ok :s22:

Am thinking of buying this phone in a week time but the touch sensitivity issue that chong brought up is rather worrying since my arc S now also like that, can anyone else verify this problem ?
