Never met too many from China despite going for the top seasons & locations.
The noisy ones are the Hokkien- speaking Taiwanese oldies.

Less crowded at tourist area!
Less Ah Tiong :s13:

Temples and gardens. especially beautiful when quiet :o

Last time i went Kyoto and Tokyo during 2013 when Yen was more expensive than now. The trip was quite enjoyable although more expensive.

It was even better before yen dropped in 2013. Still prefer local tourists to so many foreigners. Been going every year since 2010, though mine were all shorter trips with 14D. Only this year made it close to 3 weeks.

Yeah. Local tourists much much better. If tourist numbers can fall to 25% of current figures. Will be really nice.

I hope for Quiet Kyoto in November.
At least CNY/YEN already lost 25% from peak. Hopefully less tiong

I think more or less same. Tiong, Honkie, Taiwanese or sinkies

All same noisy people.

My May trip at Alpine Route, is full of tours from Tw, china, thai, pinoy, korea. The worst are Korean ahjumma. the way they push their way through. Is horrible.

Many Taiwanese feel that they are more Japanese > China Chinese & they are one of the biggest source of Japan tourism.
They donate quite a lot ( only one ? )when big disasters strike Japan.
Taiwanese uncles & aunties 'feel at home in Japan'
& like to shout / talk loudly in Hokkien.
The young Taiwanese are fine.

Taiwan was a Japanese colony for decades and their culture shows deep Japense influences. Especially considering their political relationship with China why wouldn't they feel connected to Japan!

In any case going to Japan is such a short flight for the Taiwanese, with budget options, probably how Singaporans look at holidaying in Bangkok or Hongkong! :s22:

change some now, then later change again

uncertainty in markets driving demand for safe haven assets gold, yen

in near term, unlikely jpy would depreciate back to 80 level

Hi all, I have some euros now and want to change them to yen. Should i change directly to yen at the money changers in Japan or use the ATMs in Japan to withdraw money from my DBS account and change the euros back to SGD at singapore money changers instead?
I am not in sg at the moment, thanks!

Actually the spread at money changer is very high.. They selling at 13.40 but buying at 12.30. You guys can probably sell to each other and benefit both sides :o
