Any place you would recommend? Do most of you use cash instead of cc when shopping there?
there are certain limitations to using credit cards, not every place accepts them

u can use them in department stores and places like Bic Yodobashi etc

using CC in japan subject to 3% extra?

No. Not subject to those for most.
But take note so places do subject you to 3% extra for credit card.
Some grey dealer for watches. especially expensive one, they will add extra for cc

Depends. I will still use cash mainly. But some big item or hotels i use CC.
Take note i think japan u cannot bring more than 1,000,000 yen in cash into the country and need to declare

Oh. Thanks for the heads up. What if we forgot to declare and they found out?

I mostly only consider it when shopping at a shop offering duty free. Some even add in an discount if you pay by VISA or Master

They might think you are trying to launder money. In any case, having so much cash on you isn't a good idea

By any chance that applies to Hermes, Tiffany and Chanel as well?

These are probably not going to be beaten by outlets in Europe. I do have to mention this, items in outlets are not the same as compared to the regular stores. Especially these "high" fashion brands
