Depends. I will still use cash mainly. But some big item or hotels i use CC.
Take note i think japan u cannot bring more than 1,000,000 yen in cash into the country and need to declare

1 million yen is quite a lot of money leh!
but having that in your pocket should make u feel rich LOL

No. Not subject to those for most.
But take note so places do subject you to 3% extra for credit card.
Some grey dealer for watches. especially expensive one, they will add extra for cc

thanks, but i mean, eg i sign a amount of SGD $100, will the bank charge me additional 3% on the $100 of amount i sign in japan?

I usually go Arcade to change for whatever currency that I need. If I can't find time to go there, I'll just go to Fountain Money Changer (last time at Suntec, now at Marina Sq) to change coz their rates also quite competitive and my office is in the vicinity.

The site is crowdsource one, so need take pic of the board then send to them then they will update their rates. So i say accurate but not up to date ah.

good reference rate ... mostly from mustafa, but think Arcade's has better rates
