i am going end march to early april. should i wait out for the rates to be better or it will worsen then since its peak period and exchange now?

If I remember clearly, 2016 end march - early April is around 12.00 to 12.10 mark.
Cos I change at 12.21 before flying and it drop when I was there.

Are you seriously using last year's exchange rates to predict rates for this year??

Of cos not....if can predict I'll be rich.
I'm just sharing last year experience, although consider "peak" but the yen did drop abit due to whatever reason/news and it rise after that.

Just change at ur comfort rate or bit by bit to average it.

I planned to go japan for 16days in May. Planning to change 2k not sure if it's enough. Also another thing, how to calculate how much we lugi if we change at a lower rate for example 12.5 versus 12.4? Any chance for the rate to get better or 12.5/80 is already quite gd?

Today's rate should be around 12.45 in the noon.

SGD $2k for rate 12.50 vs 12.40 is SGD $16 diff.

1000/ 12.50 = 80Yen per $1 SGD
SGD $2K * 80 = 160,000

1000/ 12.40 = 80.645 per $1 SGD
160,000/ 80.645 = $1984

Unless u changing more than $2k, waiting for Yen to drop much more than 12.40 or stay/work near arcade.
Change half will save you $8 but u got to monitor Yen movement and able to reach arcade and change before there's any movement.

Does the $8 saving worth?
