note that for universal port hotel in osaka, they charge 5000yen if you pay by cash. I assume that some other hotels in Japan might do the same.

This afternoon, I exchanged yen at The Arcade at Raffles Place at the rate of 1.110

Then I used that japanese yen I got to purchase my JR Passes (7 days for cousin, and 14 days for myself) for my upcoming trip.

In the end the amount I paid for 7 day pass is S$323 and 14 day pass is S$515 (based on the exchange rate of 1.11 of my japanese yen)
