Thats your problem, the RX570 is almost 7 years old it doesn't have the video decoders for 8K. Just like how a GTX 1080Ti would also struggle from time to time.

You're watching the videos with software decoder thats why it has performance issues.

so then to your knowledge which are the cards with the video decoders with 4-8k?
do you mean all the vid on youtube runs on software decode?

youtube should be using av1 codec. Just look for apu or gpu that support av1 hardware decoding

Use gpu-z to see which codecs your GPU supports for hardware acceleration.

During YT video playback, click stat for nerds and see which codec it uses.

View your resource consumption on the task manager.

With these 3 steps, you can easily find out the issue.

i checked the resources via the task manager, there was no load on encode and decode, its all on the cpu side
but for the gpuz and stats for nerds i did not check yet. i will look it up later tonight

You just answered your own question.

It means you need a new graphic card that supports AV1 decode.

Besides RTX 30 and Radeon 6000, Intel Arc A series also supports AV1 decode.

most youtube 4k videos should still be able to be decoded on gcn cards, my vega igpu still can do 4k60 no problem. only when switching to 8k then it becomes sw decode (100% cpu).

Windows already have the codec to decode AV1, but since it can't find any hardware to do the work, it reverts to software decode by using the CPU.
