I need to remember this. To convert some bonds to high yield cash account when the yield is too low to avoid the similar sell off of the rate cuts of 2022/23

just treat it as a savings account/warchest and leave it there to earn interest.

For me, FSMOne autosweep account is an good place to park part of my warchest, since the cash is instantly available for trading in US/UK/HK/SG stock market.

I said, find and marry a "high earning wife".
Double engines are better, faster, more powerful than single.

if you marry later, you will have a better sense of whether your wife is likely to be high earning and also able to take the stress of the Singapore workplace.

marrying later also allows one to avoid those that develop weight issues later. They looked normal in their 20s but later on dunno why got weight issues, stress, mental health maybe, or just genes... (because health=wealth and you don't want to spend your retirement taking care of unhealthy spouse)

I think he said high yield cash account which I take to mean things like those money management accounts like FSMOne Auto-sweep or Poems Smart Park

What i mean is if interest rate drops and say the yield for a bond funds drops to say 2% vs a HYSA that pays 1.5%, it's not worth getting that additional 0.5% for the potential capital loss when interest rates hike like in 2022/23

Can spend or invest in other things, long duration bonds are just not worth the risk with yields that low. Pretty much only central banks and crazy hedge fund speculators buy bonds when rates are that low...

To sell or not also depends on the convexity. Bonds with high coupons dun rally as much as bonds with low coupons of the same duration, I'd definitely sell bonds with high convexity when rates go down and their prices rocket by 10-20%. Bonds with high coupons wouldnt rally as much since the payoff is mostly in the future, I wouldnt sell these.
