Hi guys. I've recently helped my sis apply to port over from Singtel to zero1 and today the Singtel SIM card is deactivated. Followed the instructions on the leaflet provided by zero1 but the zero1 SIM card is still not activated. How long does it take for the zero1 SIM card to be activated?

It took me 5 days to get it activated after my Starhub line was deactivated.
4-dec receive the Zero1 SIM
6-dec Starhub line cut
11-dec around 8pm, Zero1 gets activated.

My bill start date with Singtel is 18 Dec, should I buy a new number before or after 18 Dec, such that I would incur the least amount from both telcos?

If my port in was successful on 20 Dec, would I pay a pro rated Singtel bill?

Just pay the pro rate bil lor.
In the mean time, should anybody need to call you, just prepare a prepaid sim number. Getting a new number then later port the old number just doesn't make sense. There is still down time you need to take care off.

For zero1, I can only initiate a port in only with a new number sign in.

Zero1 won't allow any port in for existing zero1 number.

Thanks. Guess I'll wait for a few days before contacting them.

I signed up in September. Until now I don't have any bills billed to me? Anyone faces the same issue? No emails and no bills on my account page on zero1

Same here.

There Facebook seems to have alot of complains regarding over charging.

I guess it's too much to demand an app from zero1 for now

Zero1 has frequent disconnections. internet doesnt load randomly. need to wait a few minutes then it works. i never experienced that on myrepublic, circles, starhub, or singtel.

thinking of porting out.
It's because of Singtel network if not wrong. I remember reading before it is because singtel network keeps searching for the best signal within the region and will try to switch to it where available instead of holding on to the current one. And singtel happens to have the most signal towers if not wrong. So the interruption is due to the signal switch if not wrong.

By any chance did you receive a cheque from Singtel? I was never a singtel customer but they mailed a cheque to me under my name? Not so sure if it is "by zero1".

Not true about zero1 connection. I don't face such problem.
