Don't know about this shop, but I've used 3 others & the process is exactly what I mentioned. You are welcome to give this a try.

I wonder what's the reasoning for the recent trend of such monthly renewed plans ? Cash is King ?

I can see the plan's value but it's just too troublesome to make payment in person every month.
These plans have been around for awhile now. The target audience are foreign workers, who have traditionally bought pre-paid SIM cards, which they top up with cash on their weekends out. So the plans are designed to mimic their spending patterns.

You used the online shops for Zero1 Jumbo Plan or M1 Maxx? Which shop?

But if you are talking about prepaid top up then we are on different channels, good try anyway.

On Shopee, seller 'npnsingapore' -- offers Zero1 Jumbo & M1 Maxx plan renewals as vouchers.

After buying the Zero1 Jumbo or M1 Maxx plan, you can click on link provided -- key in your Zero1 Jumbo or M1 Maxx mobile no. & tap 'USE' to redeem.

Accordiing to seller 'npnsingapore' -- such Zero1 Jumbo or M1 Maxx plan renewal voucher -- validity is 60days from purchase.

In theory, this gives you flexibility.

You can buy the Zero1 Jumbo or M1 Maxx plan renewal before hand -- and renew/activate the Zero1 Jumbo or M1 Maxx plan -- days (or weeks) later (as long as within the 60days validity period of the voucher).

Personally, I've never bought any Zero1 Jumbo or M1 Maxx plan renewals from Shopee seller 'npnsingapore'. I do not know how reliable is this voucher system.

***
I have used https://shopee.sg/ssy80 for zero1, & TPG. I have also used https://shopee.sg/topup.service & https://shopee.sg/easytopupcomsg for both M1 Maxx & TPG.

For other Shopee sellers that also offers Zero1 Jumbo or M1 Maxx plan renewals -- they will activate/renew the Zero1 Jumbo or M1 Maxx plan -- for the mobile number you provided -- the day you placed order.

That's the difference.

For the three I tried, it was literally within minutes. Of course, I did this during office hours, so maybe that helps. Maybe next month I try it at 2am in the morning & see how long that takes :ROFLMAO:

well actually the saving i mentioned is that do you saving any money as in getting discount on the plan you purchase on shopee. like using shopee discount voucher or shopee coins of such to lower the value. but since many of u mentioned the price is the same, does that means that u cant apply any voucher or usage of coins to offset the amount?

You can use coins, cannot use vouchers.

Do you have a Shopee account?
If yes, you can find out for yourself, yes?

Put the item you want to buy in your cart & try out different (discount) vouchers to see if applicable?

There're multiple different Shopee sellers offering top ups to Singtel/M1/Starhub prepaid, top ups to SIMBA TPG account, renewals to Zero1 Jumbo or M1 Maxx etc, etc.

Not every Shopee voucher can be applied in all cases -- but certain (selected) voucher can be applied in some cases.

And yes, Shopee coins can be used in most (or all) cases.

Over in the SIMBA TPG thread -- @dora&boots has shown that the (daily available) $1 off $10 Shopee voucher can be used when doing $10 top up to SIMBA TPG.

Together w/ using Shopee coins -- that means buying $10 top up to SIMBA TPG only cost $6.30.
i.e. $10 - $1 (voucher) - Shopee coins (30% x $9) = $6.30

See below:

yes, just go claim the $1 off voucher from Daily Vouchers n apply for ur top-up txn.

Anyone on the Jumbo plan? What’s the catch apart from having to manually top up every 30 days? 60GB for $12 on SingTel network seems too good to be true, it’s even cheaper than M1 Maxx.

No gimmicks. I usually top up a few minutes after the deadline & via Shopee. Remember to claim the $1 daily voucher from the portal & use it at payment.

I assume you already know there’s no roaming with the plan.

Jumbo now allows autobilling, deduct from card directly.
Nice. Even more reason for me to jump from GOMO to Zero1 Starter $6.90 or Zero1 Jumbo 60 $12 if no more new promotion code for existing customers.

FAQ states that it excludes port in for Singtel and Singtel MVNOs. Anyone tried and was successful? A bit troublesome to port to some other telco just for a month before porting to Zero1.

The reason is because they want to lure in customers from non-SingTel instead of reducing the profitability.

Iirc options for SingTel and the MVNOs are not listed when porting in for Jumbo.

Cannot be done. You have to go to the shop to get the Jumbo plan. When doing the registration, they will ask you for your current line's telco. If it is ST or ST MVNO, they will reject.

I'm using Changi Mobile as a temporary telco to port out & port back in & it's quite easy. Sign up is done online, they deliver to your house FOC & no minimum commitment. Activation is also flexible (just needs to be within 14 days of delivery of SIM cards), so you can even time your port over better to maximise your current plan.
