Yup gtx1060 zotac mini. Always heat up until like 83 degree

I downgraded to r9 280x (4 years old card) and the performance is actually more similar than i thought. And the temperature is better even without rear case fan

The GTX 1060 Mini and the 1070 Mini is different. GTX 1060 runs hot because it is just a basic heatsink with a single fan. However, the heatsink fan on GTX 1070 Mini is completely different. Please don't confuse others based on your experience on another model.

Hey,

So would bros and sis here recommend for their RTX 2070 mini? It looks competitive for their pricing.

Looking to get a smaller size (shorter than normal that will not block the SATA ports on a motherboard)

Will consider alternative if there is other brand mini..

Thanks

I'm currently using it. So far no issues. Compact and like you mentioned, pricing is competitive. So far not many choices for mini RTX cards unless you are able to wait.

If you need the compact size, then the Mini is the way to go. Even with other brands, they tend to charge more than Zotac. However, I do need to call out that the size of the cooler will limit cooling capability. With the GTX 1070 Mini that I used some time back, it was just managing well enough with some overclock. On the RTX 2070 which is significantly hotter, I am not sure if it will hold up, though I did noticed that the cooler seem different. Perhaps best to look up for reviews.

Thank you for the feedback. Really appreciate it. I am looking to buy a reasonable fast and good mini graphics card for a system where I can do both work and game.

Will not OC it as it will be plug in and forget style till it dies, same for all of the other parts in the system.

Yeah, it has to be compact as it a rather compact case and further more I do not want the graphics card to block the SATA ports access if needed. Working in quite tight space...

Will not OC the graphics card (plug in and forget style), will use till I replace once it is dead or i upgrade it.

As for Zotac warranty claim, I am a little confuse as I heard or read different claims about it.

Zotac based warranty is 2 years, 5 years if registered within a specific time frame for a further 3 years. The additional years of warranty only tied to the FIRST OWNER (who has registered it), these are the ones I have heard about. So what happens if FIRST OWNER never bother to register and Zotac will only warranty based on the information registered with FIRST OWNER if someone brought a used one?

There is another version is Zotac warranty now is 5 years (irregardless of FIRST OWNER registered it or not).

Reason I asked is, RTX 2070 cards are not able to perform SLi, unlike a RTX 2080 or 2080 ti, if I consider a Zotac GTX 1080 ti (used), then the warranty from Zotac is 2 years (if I am not the FIRST OWNER registration) or 5 years (irregardless of FIRST OWNER registration)?

Can anyone help me to clear these doubts?

Thanks.

I believe zotac or rather tech dynamic should be the best people to direct the question to.

Using zotac 1070ti mini. Going good so far. Max load temp is around 72-73. Went to tech dynamic one to replace the fan. They didn't check who registered the warranty, only checked the invoice and repaired the fan for me.

don’t say that zotac mini gpu has 1 or 2 fan(s) and poor heatsink design, my msi triple fans gaming x trio super big heatsink runs easily 76c at load (wow or bfv) which seems high by comparing with the responses here. i need to switch on air conditioning and use a fan to blow at the frontal intakes to maintain 66c (approx. 10c lower)

does that means I am able to SLi my 2080 with another one of it’s brother? :) sure too hot to handle - 77-87c must be, since the cards will be so close to each other ):

76c on air is very normal for SG ambient temps.

You can't compare it this way. There are many factors that will affect temps, regardless if the GPU is cooled by a massive heatsink or not. For example, the fan may be spinning slower to reduce noise (typical of MSI), or the ambient temps in your case, etc.

I am using a Zotac GTX1070 founder edition. The only game i pa is OW now. Temp never go above 73 but of cos i'm on a custom fan curve.

Some people buy a card now a days and expect it to work as what they intended out of the box. Ask them to install software to adjust fan curve, they will reply you, WHY NEED?

can always use a third party gpu cooler.

Nowadays I don't find a lot of third party GPU coolers. And some manufacturers/ distros will slap a warranty sticker on the screw which will void warranty if you dismantle the cooler. Some brands like MSI and Palit have this issue locally.

Got tools to remove the screws without touching the sticker actually

All manufacturers will void warranty. But that is the only way to cool it better.
