Went down to Zym HQ to exchange SIM card for both my 4G and 5G plans. iPhone shows 5G Standalone. Was told by Zym staff that 5G SA is still in the midst of “fixing” some issues and that might experience dropped calls.

Anyone been to Guangzhou on Zym? How is the connection? Got 5G?

Had a bad experience on GOMO when I was at Chengdu earlier this year. Just wanna find out how is Zym’s connection.
I was in guangzhou earlier this week and in chengdu now. It auto connected to china mobile at guangzhou airport but no data throughput. Need to manual select china unicom. Zym partners now are china unicom and china telecom. My connection fluctuates btwn 4g and 5g. Didn’t do any speedtest. No issue with connection and browsing/loading stuff other than some stretches along the 8hr train ride from guangzhou to chengdu will lose connection.

Thanks sharing your experience! Looking forward to my trip, hopefully by then their partnered networks are automatically connected. Enjoy Chengdu! Was there earlier this year and it was a great trip!

Just reached jiuzhaigou in the afternoon and full bar 4g 🤣
I went Chengdu and 九寨沟 in March this year, was on GOMO and it literally failed me upon landing, tried all ways and nothing helped, no service all the way. Eventually the connection came back during my last 2 days.

Have you tried to change the roaming partner between China Mobile and China Unicom to see if that helps?

Gomo/Zero1 --> China Mobile and China Unicom
Zym/Vivifi --> China Unicom and China Telecom
CMLink --> China Mobile
Singtel SIM Only --> China Mobile (5G, LTE, VoLTE), China Unicom (5G, LTE, VoLTE) and China Telecom (LTE only)

Hmm, I mentioned the app name.

Apple iOS and Android --> nperf
Androd --> Netmonitor free version to get more detailed info.

Since you are using an Android phone, you can also use NetMonitor free version to get more detailed info.
Take note iPhone does not show 5G+ icon.
okay, Netmonitor is not available on iOS. Cannot find.

Poco F8 pro, legacy Zym 10.10 plan...
When it was showing 5g+, I checked using *#*#4636#*#*, it was NR SA connection.

However, after about 1 hour, my HP suddenly no line, and I airplane mode on off, then now connected to 5g NSA only since then.. no more 5g+...
same thing happened to my line for vivifi. i happy for a while thinking i got SA.
