Comments pls. I found this diamond from a family fren jeweller. Its a Super ideal cut 1.09 F VS2.

de2dTIY.jpg

The HCA score is 1.2
light return - excellent
fire - excellent
scintillation - excellent
spread - very good

They rushing me to confirm the diamond before it gets sold to someone else.
Is this a good buy?

It cant be called super ideal unless they can provide you ASET scope images. Request them to provide the aset pictures first.

why must rush ?
If good buy why it lands on lucky you ? not others ?

Some pointers to take it off the pressure of buying ..

"Super ideal" is not a trademarked term and it's not used by GIA. So anyone selling can tell you anything they want. JannPaul used it in house to mean "every facet of the diamond must perform to it’s maximum potential in returning light".

From the pics this jeweler gave you, based on JannPaul's benchmark would probably be super fail.

Avoid, this diamond sucks. It's not even a ideal, not to even mention super ideal lol.

If the jeweller is telling you that this is ideal / super ideal, he's either no knowledge (which i doubt) or he's out to con customers without much diamond knowledge.

Hey guys, I had place a deposit of 500 at House of Hung but had decided to drop the deal.

I'm willing to let someone take over the deposit with a discount of 20%.
You could change it to other diamond too.

Thanks for all the comments guys. The jeweller did say its a Super ideal and can find other Super ideals if I don't want this one. Anyway I'm not going with them anymore.

I think nobody sure what you mean by gold ring? Got examples to share? Diamond ring usually also made of gold, but add one or more diamonds on it.

You looking for plain or pattern pattern gold only no diamond ah? What's your budget like?

Gold comes in many colours nowadays. What you were seeing at SK is probably white gold, not silver. Rose gold is also pretty popular. Yellow gold is not so popular with youngsters nowadays. These are all gold.

Typically (but not always) in SG, guys will propose with a proposal/engagement ring first to give to the girl. Usually it will have a central diamond, with or without side diamonds.

After that, the couple will go together to buy wedding bands. Sometimes very simple ones, sometimes a lot of pattern, it's up to the couple. This one is for when they do solemnization, they will put on each other's fingers.

Both wedding bands and proposal rings you will be able to find at the usual Gold Heart/Poh Heng/SK/Lee Hwa etc. If just pure yellow gold can shop around the goldsmiths at Little India too to hunt for good price.

This forum loves Jann Paul for proposal rings because they sell really well cut, value for money diamonds.

So depends what you getting the ring for? If it's for someone, maybe a good idea to find out his/her tastes. If buying for yourself then the sky's the limit, there are lots of mixed colour designs and there are jewelers here who can do custom design.

A gold ring without any diamond will never be above 1k unless it's Super thick or branded....as gold is sold by weight, there's a limit how big of a gold ring you could get hence the price has always been lower than 1k, unless you're paying for luxury brand
