Anyone staying at Sengkang?
Can recommend an antenna that is good and tested can receive the signal?

My understanding from a some one, SK may have a weak signal to receive all the channels. Thanks.

The moment you on the power switch where the power adapter is connected to, the STB will turn on wat, there is no need to use remote control.

Highly possible the power adapter or worst the STB itself is up-lorry liao, use multi-meter to test if got output.

Note: Please replace the so-called "heatsink" use on the processor with a real one if you really want to prolong the "life" of the STB.

The STB will 'on' into 'standby' mode with red indicator light when power switch is turned on.

To power on from standby mode, change channel etc need to use remote

Mine has red indicator light but pressing the remote has no response

Any idea how to link it to other remote? My Receiver has programmable remote but it doesn't detect the STB

Shouldn't be if STB is working correctly, my unit will boot into "on" mode, which should be the way it function. Doesn't made sense to on TV and STB together and having to turn STB on again via remote.

Do you see the STB going thru the boot-up process?

Thanks for that tip! power off and on the STB using mains power and indeed it boots straight to ON mode.

Tried to change channel using remote and failed so confirmed the remote spoilt.

Now... any tips how to change channel on the box directly?
Or have to pay $5.90 for new remote.
New box only $23.90 😑

Is your box still under warranty? Can always contact your seller and see what can be done. That's provided he/she still around as some (like mine) has gone MIA or no longer selling this model of STB! :s22:

Three options:

1) There is a remote control sale / repair shop in jurong point, approach them to find out cost

2) Buy from carousell. Cheapest that I found is $5.90

3) Buy another set top box and keep as spare. Ask seller to send extra remote for free / cheap.

EDIT: This may sound dumb, but have you tried changing the batteries?

1st thing I tried was change batteries 😅
Likely to go with (2) or (3) since (1) is east to west.
Good idea on asking seller for extra remote!

The salesperson at Best Denki told me I needed a box when I got my 65KU6000 and so I happily ponied up $49 for the Funke DSC550. Is that any good? :s13:

Temporary using a power adapter as an antenna.
It works perfectly.
