i just check with a digital lock company, they told me samsung smart cannot control samsumg digital door. lol. they recommended me zipato. the hub quite cheap but the super chio zipatile is a boomzzz but still im saving up for one.

Thanks for the advice.
That's strange, because according to this site http://products.z-wavealliance.org/products/1373 at least this model is zwave compliant...

Hey guys, check out the Zipato smart home system. Compatible with many brands and ultimately we don't have to choose between Z-wave or Zigbee as their controller can do both and more. Automated my whole house at a very affordable price :)

where u do yours? recommendation please. Am renovating my new place soon

The lock company ownself say one, not stable. He showed me a demo, the lock and unlock is of opposite. example lock is unlock den unlock is lock. Den he sent me a demo video of zipato controlling. stable no lag and accurate.

Bookmarked!!
I bought LIFX and Hue bulbs to be integrated with Samsung Smartthings (UK version) and Echo
Also bought the harmony hub for devices
For AC, I bought Tado and Sensibo

Smartthings compatible devices like door/light/window sensors

All ready to roll but haven't had time to start

guys,

Anyone bought Fibaro Home center lite or home center 2?
any review on this item? I'm thinking to get Fibaro Starter Kit + Amazon Echo (for voice command) to test around.

Any similar setup?

One more thing guys, now Samsung SmartThings is having Thanksgiving promo
https://shop.smartthings.com/#!/kits/samsung-smartthings-home-monitoring-kit

so it will become $149 for the Monitoring Kit, is it worth to get?
The downside is they are using Z-wave (US Frequency) thus need to get any additional gadget from US to work with this.

if i use philips hue, if i switch it off via the wall switch then i can't switch it on with the app already right?

then if like that everytime i wanna switch off the lights while ensuring usability i have to switch it off via the app?

another thing, can't even find samsung refrigerators and washing machine that works with smartthings locally.. sian..

maybe should just give up haha

Currently still thinking to do home automation or not for my BTO..

Mainly is interested to link up the light switches for things like "Door open and its night time, turn on light in front of main door".

A rough calculation is as below,
Samsung smartthing starter kit - $420
Z-Wave switch - $85 (no diff between 1 - 3 gang) x 6 = $510
Installation of the switch plus pulling of neutral wire - $60 each x 6 = $360
Google Home - $250

In total its about $1.6k investment.. Haven't count in if need to rewire to the same spot for the light switches..

For mine its timing but light sensor is no issue too. Can add on for $100-200. Theres also a light sensor that adjusts blinds position according to light direction and intensity.

If u live in a 24/7 aircon house, the thermostat can use this change in blinds to help maintain comfortable house temp

Are you in a 24/7 air con house?

Guys just remember if u are replacing your light switches with an intelligent switch, u need to pull a neutral wire to it. Anything electrical to function needs both a live and neutral wire. Our regular switches only open and close the live wire circuit so there's no neutral wire to your switch.
If you wanna avoid cabling, u need an intelligent light bulb. But each bulb costs nearly the price of a switch. Also your regular switch should always be in the 'on' position if u wanna go the smart bulb approach.
Cos if u off ur main switch, the bulb has no power so u lose control of it.
