What's your budget? You want branded like Lutron/Somfy or any brand also ok?

Motorised blinds pricey tell u first

haven't really thought of budget yet. Around how much ah? Basically I only need a motor that goes with UK zwave, can integrate with Samsung Smarthings. Controlled via Amazon Echo. How much more expensive as compared to installing normal blinds?

So far i test setup my room. Able to do TV & Aircon via Amazon Echo liao.

Anyone using Amazon echo with logitech harmony?
It's been a sub par experience for me. Echo will acknowledge the command, but the TV will remained turned off, for example. And echo keeps telling me that it can't find my a/c activity.. What gives? Any help anyone?

Besides your TV, did you use the Harmony Hub's IR capabilities to control things like your Air Con and Fan?

Was wondering with all the sensors and peering with Amazon Echo / Logitech Harmony hub... we can achieve a cost-efficient home automation set up :)

No leh, I’m controlling everything with amazon echo

Is there any way to change Echo's device location to Singapore? So that it will report the correct weather..etc?

Managed to only change the timezone to Singapore so that it reports the correct time

currently not that i know of also. Maybe when amazon is officially here they will change it.

Btw anyone have any experiences with US philips hue bulbs? Not sure if the usa bulbs will work here as they are rated for 110v

Thing is i am intending to use the GU10 version of the bulbs for my new place. Locally the GU10 bulbs won't be available till april, and it will only be in white and ambience.

Even over in the UK, there are no 2nd generation gu10 bulbs. Only usa have 2nd gen GU10 RGB bulbs which I intend to use. Not sure if i should risk buying a 110v rated bulb as I intend to purchase about 15 in all.

I have used US white hue bulbs here, but you need to be very careful with turning them on/off. It is not as sturdy as bulbs of 220/230v. I have blown a few bulbs of the 110v ones.

Just curious, why are you using GU10 and not E27?

2) Belkin wemo light switches. Ordered from amazon too. This is tricky as they are sized differently then our surface mount boxes. Surface mounts need to order separately from amazon too. I have the number of a freelance electrician who can lay the neutral wire. Charges about 50+ bucks to run the wire and replace point.

Basically i also used a contactor (bought from sim lim tower) and with that, used a wemo light switch to control my storage heater.

Right now everything can be controlled by my phone.

Hi, I'm thinking of using Belkin Wemo light switch to control my water storage heater. Where can I buy the back box for the switch, and also why do you need a contactor for the storage heater?

guys,

Anyone bought Fibaro Home center lite or home center 2?
any review on this item? I'm thinking to get Fibaro Starter Kit + Amazon Echo (for voice command) to test around.

Any similar setup?

One more thing guys, now Samsung SmartThings is having Thanksgiving promo
https://shop.smartthings.com/#!/kits/samsung-smartthings-home-monitoring-kit

so it will become $149 for the Monitoring Kit, is it worth to get?
The downside is they are using Z-wave (US Frequency) thus need to get any additional gadget from US to work with this.

House:
4 rooms HDB

Automation:
Fibaro HCL running version 4.100
3X motion sensors
3X door/window sensors
75 scenes to control lighting, heater & family member GPS notifications
1X Samsung P728 Digital Lock
1X Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
1X Amazon Echo
1X Amazon Dot
MCO Home touch switches whole house except storeroom
Motorised blinds for living room

Overall: LOVE it!!! You should give it a try!!!
