Mine arrived today
IMG-20190308-182232-2.jpg

Music always stutter for half a second when skipping (forward/backward) tracks
Experience some cuts when holding my dap in hand, playback was way smoother when put in back pocket and running, need to test with phone later

For my ears it feels very sturdy when running, even my kz iems would fall out sometimes during runs
For those worried about audio video lag, if u really nitpick it u will still see that 0.01s lag but its really negligible
Other than that i think for $99 its not bad

Where you got the skin haha

hmm.... I saw the listing in the sxfi app too. But I can't recall seeing the logo on the brochure. And just now at the booth i was comparing between Air and One plus, the staff was telling me the difference which One plus has the sxfi and Air doesn't... I asked back if there is a possibility of software upgrade to enable that, she says no idea. There may be something new soon, I asked is it new product she says no idea again...

That is the brochure taken from hwz tech show portal.
It has the sxfi certified logo.

I'm having a pretty good first impression on this unit. Pairing was easy, so far walk around no disconnect in public transport. Only not a fan of the touch controls. The bass not muddy, but still doesn't sound as good as the Sennheiser Momentum TW which is 4x the price. :s13:

Overall I think this is a pretty good bang for the buck @ $100.

sagu also has the SXFI Air and the default “Flat” equalizer does injustice to its SQ and suggest to install the SXFI Control app or software to set the equalizer setting to “Cinematic” or adjust to your SQ preference and the bass should punch :s22:

#saguwisdom :vijayadmin:
I have set it to 'Game On' with full bass n treble but still disappointing. Hope somebody can share their bass punching EQ settings here!

I saw the SXFI certified logo in the brochure for the outlier air.
It is also in the list of headphones selection in the sxfi app.
Is it even possible to activate that?

certified means can be used with sxfi, not built in sxfi amp :s13:

Did the litmus test for bluetooth connection at the booth. Audio drop out :(

You may want to try the litmus test on your own. For any android phone, cover 2 of the diagonal edges with your hands. Audio should drop out immediately. Repeat with the other diagonals. That's where the bluetooth antenna is located.

For me, drop out happened on note 8. Tried it on the creative salesman note 9, also drop out with the litmus test.

I told him that it will not happen if i did the test on IPhone 7+. He explained that apple use their own designed bluetooth chipset which give excellent connection.

Understand that the litmus test may be too harsh but i think it is necessary to test the resilience of bluetooth connectivity.

Unless I’m doing it incorrectly, the Outlier Air can’t be used simultaneously on 2 devices, although it can be paired to 2 devices, just that only 1 device can be used at a time. Any user can confirm whether it can be used simultaneously on 2 devices?

This is such a disappointment as most Bluetooth 4.0 & above earphones can be paired & used simultaneously on 2 devices. This is key for many who likes to listen to music or shows on their tablets, laptops or another device while being able to hear notifications & receive/make calls on their phone for e.g.

My other thoughts after using for 6 hours are:
1. Sound quality is average – reasonable & about the same as Outlier One. It actually improve slightly after 6-hours of usage (maybe due to some burn-in time needed).

2. Those with smaller ears like ladies might find it less comfortable for sure. For a guy like me in an air-con room, it is fine so far. However, will be keen to take it for a 10km run in the hot & humid outdoor environment to see how movements, vibrations & sweat affects the comfort level & also the use of the touch controls in pausing, skipping music or making/receiving phone calls on the move.

3. Battery about 20% remaining after 6-hours (*where it was charged fully before the 1st usage). Not sure whether 10-hours claimed life can be achieved.

4. It does turn off by itself after about 5mins once it is not used & Bluetooth is switch off on your device/phone. It is actually quite a while, was hoping that it should be about 2-3min.

can simultaneously connected to 2 devices?
like if u play music frm both devices, u can hear music frm both device simultaneously?
i gt outlier one, cannot ley, need to disable 1 device bt, then it will 2nd device manually connect wor...

Bluetooth signal will not travel well through body, water or objects. It will bounce off surface instead.

That is like a test where you cover the person's mouth and nose, then when he die you say he bad at breathing. :s13:

The app sucks. Just download PowerAMP, I am getting much better sound quality from that instead of the garbage SFXI app. Waste of my bandwidth.

Sorry to sidetrack. I saw another deal for Curve True Wireless Fitness Earbuds TWS-X100 at IT show. Any reviews on it?

Creative known for its sux drivers n software

Sent from Sony Z4 using GAGT

I tried all sorts of EQ settings for SFXI, none of them can match my PowerAMP EQ settings and sound as good. Specially the bass boost. Waste my time.

I dun really understand the reasoning behind your litmus test. I can only conclude that Apple' bluetooth implementation is better coz of their proprietary chip.

But how does this litmus test rate the Creative Outlier Air's bluetooth connection?

Are you saying that most other TWS pass the litmus test, so outlier air's BT connection is lousy since it failed?

Or issit a case where the fault lies with andriod's BT implementation and other TWS will also fail the test when tested with an andriod phone?

In which case, exactly wat does this test conclude abt outlier air's BT connection? :s22:

I tested both Air and One plus at the booth just now, listening to same songs playing from my Sony dap. Personally I prefer the playback by One plus, which is why after some consideration I bought One plus rather. Though I must really say i was quite impressed Air's connectivity is really way better than those of same price range I have used before. The other bluetooth earbuds I had, always have the master slave connection problem, one side keeps disconnecting and connecting. But Creative Outlier Air completely pass this area. I tried to pause, on off, all not once disconnect. If I die die must find fault, it will be the volume control which is press and hold the earbud to increase/decrease the volume. I find it abit hard pressing it while the earbuds are in my ears...

Master slave problem I think mostly with BT4.2 earphones. BT5.0 ones fair much much better as the connection between the 2 earphones also via BT5.0.

I'm using ERL 2.0 headset bought on Indiegogo. Must say connection wise, battery life and mic quality wise it's not as solid as Outlier Air but don't think the sound quality and fit lose out. With my current ERL2.0 I can just put it on push it in and it will never come loose yet still easily taken off. Find it a bit hard to take out the outlier air from my ear.

If outlier Air has only 1 tip size I will definitely pass. I can't get proper fix with the earbud pushed fully in. Need to pull out slightly to get it fit just right at the outer ear canal. Currently using ERL2.0 with 4-5 hours battery life also I never really get it fully drained before. Just won't be wearing a earbud for so long time I guess.

The button is covered in one thin layer or diaphragm right? Find that it feels quite cheap when pressed. But I do like that this bud can change volume by tap and hold. Best if it just links with Android volume and not standalone hardware volume.
