Dun have free rental :)
The 6 months promo is for premium membership.
15 bucks a month membership fee for premium.
So after 6 months, they charge you 15 bucks a month for at least 6 months more since you cannot terminate until your annual membership expires.

Premium member rental is 33 cents per min.
Normal member (free membership fee) rental is 50 cents per min.

You have to calculate your projected usage then see which one spend less money.

Normal breakeven point is 88 mins of rental per month. You rent less than 88 mins, go for free membership.

Of course since now got 6 month free membership promo, breakeven point will be renting 176 mins per month.

Now got 6mths free membership? Can share promo code?

I'm afraid I dun have a promo code. Byt they super regularly got tie-in with credit card and other vendors for this promo. Their last public one was on easter which might have expired. Worth a try though.

If you switch to Sempcorp, you will also get one that has no expiry date I think.

Or, chut pattern. Call their service line and tell them you want to sign up for the 6 month free premium membership. Make it sound like you expecting it. If they say dun have, ask to speak to their manager.

Edit: Latest public promo is actualy the Sentosa station opening that one. But only 3 months free. You can check their FB to see if they will have another promo https://www.facebook.com/BlueSG.carsharing/

BlueSG grows bigger and stronger into its second year, thanks to its business model and of course, its faithful supporters.

SINGAPORE - Electric car-sharing firm BlueSG has added another 140 charging points across Housing Boar and Urban Redevelopment Authority carparks to its network of 99 charging points which are open to all electric vehicle car owners.

Marking its second anniversary, the company said on Thursday (Dec 12) that this will bring the number of charging points open to all electric vehicle car owners to 239 in Singapore.

To use its charging points, a user has to pay a one-time fee of $20.

Usage charges are $1 per hour for first three hours, and $2 per hour for subsequent hours.

The French operator has 1,207 charging points here across 304 locations. They are used by its fleet of 660 electric subcompact cars.

Since its launch two years ago, the car-sharing scheme has attracted more than 55,000 members who currently make around 40,000 rentals a month - up from 15,000 a year ago.

The fleet has clocked more than 8 million km since.

It is on track to expand its fleet to 1,000 cars, and grow the charging network to 2,000 points by next year.

Also to mark its second anniversary, BlueSG launched two new subscription plans on Thursday: a Premium six-month membership plan priced at $18 per month with a rental rate of 33 cents per minute, and 45 minutes of free rental per month; and a Basic plan with no commitment, priced at $8 per month with a rental rate of 33 cents per minute.

Managing director Franck Vitte said the new plans are in response to "growing demand from our customers for more flexibility".

He said the plans are targeted at "those who do not want to commit and still enjoy the lowest rental rate, or for the more regular users who can get free rentals".

Noticed most of BlueSG drive like F1.

If i rem correctly, time based car sharing... The faster you drive, the earlier you reach destination, the lesser you have the pay?

Heresay, lack of braking once hit certain speed. Not sure true on not.

That’s right. The faster the drive, the earlier the destination is reached, and the lesser the payment ($0.33/min, minimum 15 mins).

At the other end of the scale, chunks of savings are wiped out in the event of any collision or accident with own and/or third party excess $2,000, or $5,000, as the case may be. The rental rate $0.33/min continues to run even after a collision.

Only time can tell if a particular action is prudent savings or penny-wise, pound-foolish.

Many don't have much driving experience

In such an accident, paying $2,000 (or $5,000 as the case may be) in relation to damage caused to a BlueSG Car and $2,000 (or $5,000 as the case may be) in relation to claims paid or to be paid by BlueSG or the BlueSG Insurer, to third parties for personal injury, property damage or otherwise, will be a memorable driving experience.
