P.S. Anyone able to sideload Netflix on the Mi TV Global A55 set yet though? I was able to run and install Amazon Prime through Aptoide. Mi TV comes with YouTube already. If only able to run Netflix problem free, then i can get rid of the Mi Box S. :s12:

If you only need 480p, it should be easy.

If you need 4k on non Netflix certified Mi TV, forget about it.

If you need 720p, maybe need some hacked Netflix apk. Not so sure.

If you need 1080p, maybe you have to wait for somebody to be able to dual boot to CoreElec (Kodi Linux distribution), I think you can forget about it on Mi TV too.

In the end, keep your Mi Box S for now unless you are okay with 480p Netflix.

Please refer to my previous reply.

If you just need 480p on Google certified Android TV OS devices, try this one.

The following is using a dual boot Linux Kodi distribution CoreElec to get Netflix FHD1080p for some Android based TV boxes, I think this will not work for Mi TV, no matter it is the Patchwall OS or the official Android TV OS.

So in the end, better to get a Mi.Box S or Amazon FireTV Stick 4K.

Delivery date Feb 2020.. Abit far le

I got the same xiaomi TV 55inch during 12/12 flash deal also 499 from same seller on lazada.
The delivery actually came after 4 days. Which I felt was acceptable delivery time frame.
I don’t think it will take 40-45 days.
That time I order also states that long, I believe is lazada system force them to state longer, but usually is comes much earlier based on my experience.
Anyway the TV resolution is 4K, Full English, got google playstore, youtube all inside and also seller gave a free digital antenna.
Felt it was a great deal at $499.

Ask seller about the stock? Mine same as others from the same seller, delivery supposed to be end jan which i am fine but got it within a week or so.

Yup same here, when i order on 12.12 Lazada stated end Jan delivery but it came within 5 days. If you notice their listing, it says ready stock, next day delivery. :s12:

Ordered another tv from the same seller during 12.12 sales. Tv was delivered the next working day.

Comparing this price with prism+ e55 which is only a plain 4k tv with no Bluetooth, no Android and no etc... and $589 Plus super long delivery until after cny, this xiaomi global tv at $464 after discount is really a super good buy

Not to pour cold water, the Netflix license is not Globally but geographically configured. The only way one can get an update with Netflix 4K is to "smuggle'" a set either from India or Spain or may be a European country(if the Netflix license is continentally configured.)

interesting, since 2016 Netflix says they can block but till now VPN services claim they can still pass through Netflix on their platform.

That is true as well -- you can bypass Netflix geo-block with paid VPN services. And the cost is not high, average is like US$1 or US$2 per month when on promotion. For example Ivacy life subscription is on offer now at US$40. Assume that means 5 years, then each year is only US$8.

On the other hand you can not pay any services n reasonable cost to get your unlicensed Mi TV to become licensed to run Netflix 4K. Only Xiaomi can do it -- if they decide to get the Russian 4S version to be certified by Netflix and offer system updates.

So in the end, just get a Mi Box S or Amazon FireTV Stick 4K or Xbox One S or a HTPC which can run Netflix 4K.

Was told that all xiaomi tv has DTMB feature after 2014, meaning it is digital ready in Singapore. Anyone using China set can share if can watch sg channels with just a digital antenna?

As far as i know, only those global sets from india, Russian and EU come with dvbt2 inbuilt, china do not have.

Who told you the above?
http://en.dtvstatus.net/

You can see that China adopts DTMB standard which is not the same as the DVB-T2 standard adopted by SG.

So Xiaomi China TV will have DTMB tuner and can not be used in Singapore to receive MediaCorp OTA TV channels. You need to buy a DVB-T2 tuner box.

I have some issue connecting the soundbar to my mi tv. Mi tv behind got optical out and the red white ( I think it’s called rca?)

My sound bar have coaxial, optical that’s all. The optical port is connected by my pc.

So I’m left with rca on mi tv and coaxial on sound bar. Any idea how to link rca and coaxial together?
